As the EMEA Sales Engineering Leader at Intercom, you will be responsible for building and running a team of world-class pre-sales engineers supporting Intercom’s sales team and prospects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all team members are consistently delivering high-quality customer deliverables that directly address customer pain and emphasize Intercom’s unique value propositions.

What will I be doing? ๐Ÿš€

  • Proactively manage a team of world-class Sales Engineers in the EMEA region

  • Manage all aspects of people management, including hiring, development, training, promoting career growth, conducting regular 1:1s and periodic performance reviews

  • Operate as a player/coach by working with sales reps, meeting with prospects, configuring and delivering demonstrations, while also managing the team

  • Work as a technical pre-sales engineer and clearly articulate Intercom’s technical and product capabilities to a wide variety of businesses

  • Ensure the efficiency of the team by driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process

  • Support senior management in developing and coordinating internal and external presentation materials

  • Provide input for the long-term vision and strategy of the team and manage day-to-day operations

  • Verify sales engineers are following corporate sales enablement methodology

  • Ensure team members track customer activity in internal systems in order to execute effectively on account strategy

  • Develop and document Sales Engineering best practices 

  • Serve as expert resource on internal processes and procedures

What skills do I need? ๐Ÿ“–

  • 7+ years of pre-sales experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or related role 

  • 2+ years in a pre-sales engineering management/leadership/coaching role

  • High energy, self-starter comfortable with ambiguity in entrepreneurial environments

  • Outstanding professional, sales, and technical capabilities; comfortable supporting all levels of sales teams (Enterprise, Mid-Market, Small Business)

  • Ability to stay focused and thrive under pressure while working with customers to solve their most challenging issues

  • A track record of creating innovative ideas to drive adoption and retain customers

  • Able to travel internationally

  • Ability to flex working hours to partner with team in North America 

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
