The Role:

Candidate will be responsible to lead, and grow a R&D, high tech site in the region. This candidate will be responsible to lead the growth of the site, inclusive of hiring, creation of a culture based on excellence, leadership, and candor. S/he will have the responsibility as well to represent Proofpoint in the region, inclusive of the Government and the media, and would own inserting Proofpoint in the local community, and creating a culture of community involvement that is accretive to the region.

Your day to day:

• To be successful as Sr. Director of Engineering at Proofpoint you must be able to lead teams developing a diverse set of technologies while also identifying opportunities to converge technology choices and platforms.
• You should have deep experience in developing organizational structures and team cultures that encourage engineers to do great work and build amazing products.  You should be comfortable leading the development of technology strategy and communicating that to key stakeholders across the organization.
• Proven experience working closely with Product Management teams to deliver multiple product releases and products to market is required.  You should have plenty of battle scars and know what it takes to ship complicated large-scale products.
• Recruiting, retaining and developing high performing leaders and engineers is an important aspect of this role.  You should have experience in hiring both individual contributors as well as second line managers.

• Experience leading multiple teams
• Experience in leading large teams in the region and growing remote sites
• Proven examples of outcome-based teams.
• Nice to have experience includes media relations, government and academia handling, as well as labor relations.
