About the role

The Uber IT Engineering team plays a critical role in executing high-impact org-wide initiatives and continuously improving processes to increase the effectiveness of our products, operations, and engineering organizations.

A Program Manager in this role will structure and drive large complex cross-team technical initiatives for the company's M&A activities spanning global acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures as well as critical programs various HR / HCM technologies.

Specifically, the Program Manager will own the problem space, work closely with engineering/security leads to conceptualize solutions, organize/align multiple engineering teams for delivery and drive execution leveraging milestones/KPIs. She/he will look for ways to standardize, ensure execution is efficient and consistent, and set accountability by supervising progress, resolving dependencies, identifying issues, evaluating risks, and communicating status to upper management and project partners.

Basic Qualifications:--

  • Proven experience of 3+ years as a Program Manager or Engineering Manager with integrating IT/Enterprise systems in a M&A environment
  • Experienced project management of M&A transactions including technical due diligence in assessing the candidate company, integration planning, risks, and challenges. Ability to apply fluid requirements into meaningful tasks
  • Track record of deal close execution and follow-through post-deal close activities

Preferred Qualifications:--

  • Experience executing various projects across the People/HCM technology stack
  • Broad implementation experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM), Cloud Services, Enterprise Networks, Client Endpoint Management, and Security
  • High technical aptitude and ability to understand technical designs, challenges, and risks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and emotional intelligence; ability to deliver Executive Summaries/Board Materials on impact, status, and metrics for the deal transaction
  • Shown strong cross-team and cross-org partner management. Ability to influence, motivate, and align people across a broad variety of job functions through your relationships. Engineers enjoy working closely with you.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to lead multiple, challenging priorities simultaneously, without losing sight of the highest priority items.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive decisions.
