Job Description

[24]7 is on an ambitious path to transform its applications & infrastructure following the modern design patterns. The applications are evolving to be more microservices based that sit on a hybrid cloud platform with resources spread across on-premise data centers and public cloud providers. 

The Cloud Infrastructure team is looking for "Principal Engineer - DevOps" with strong development skills and product mindset to help execute on the vision of building a multi–cloud capable cloud platform. 

Role : Principal Engineer - DevOps

Location : Toronto, Canada

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, build and maintain the cloud platform comprising tools and frameworks for deploying software across various environments in a repeatable and automated manner
  2. Lead a team of DevOps Engineers to design, build and administer Kubernetes clusters comprising Dev, Test and Production environments
  3. Automate orchestration of infrastructure across public & on-premise k8s based cloud
  4. Work with product teams on gathering requirements.
  5. Break down complex problems, devise solutions and then POCs to validate them
  6. Document the design & architecture and mentor and train team members.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Solid experience building cloud based architectures on one of the public clouds (AWS, GCP, IBM)
  2. Hands on experience with deployment on Kubernetes orchestrated Docker containers
  3. Experience designing, building and running CI/CD pipelines involving CI/CD process and necessary tooling comprising Jenkins, Git, Nexus is must.  Knowledge of modern CD tools e.g. Spinnaker will be a big plus
  4. Experience building monitoring and logging solutions using technologies like Prometheus and ELK(Elastic, Logstash, Kibana) is required
  5. Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef. Knowledge of immutable infrastructure paradigm and its considerations will be a big bonus
  6. Good understanding of Databases (SQL and NO-SQL esp. Cassandra) and messaging systems (Kafka) used in Distributed architectures is expected
  7. Expert level knowledge of Linux system administration and scripting is expected
  8. Experience in automation using Python. (Experience in Go - a bonus)
  9. Requires Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent with 10+ years of experience
