Job Description

Global health institutions play a key role in Zipline’s ecosystem, supporting new deployments and expansion programs in Africa and partnering on health impact research. Zipline is looking for an experienced fundraising / sales professional with an entrepreneurial mindset to join our global health partnerships team. This person will focus on identifying and cultivating relationships with global health organizations, financial institutions, and like-minded private enterprises to design unique vehicles for partnership and raise funds to enable public adoption of disruptive health technology in Africa.

What you’ll do

  • Successfully raise funds in the form of grants and/or loans to support deployment of Zipline’s public healthcare delivery solution in Africa
  • Build relationships with influential leaders in global health, including philanthropic foundations, development finance institutions, and private corporations / CSR to recruit and cultivate new qualified leads
  • Effectively manage a pipeline of highly qualified donor prospects all the way through to stewardship
  • Develop customized programs and proposals taking into account the specific needs and interests of each target institution
  • Craft tailored content, including presentations, proposals, and VFM/ROI analyses
  • Evangelize and articulate the benefits of Zipline’s service to prospective partners
  • Design and execute multi-year fundraising and donor stewardship plans
  • Inform direction on research collaborations and thought leadership by capturing and communicating institutions’ requirements around data and impact insights
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to design strategies that align with go-to-market objectives, particularly in Africa 
  • Follow developments in global public health, including new project and grant activity

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years of experience planning, executing and managing complex fundraising or sales cycles involving large organizations
  • Proven ability to consistently hit fundraising / revenue targets
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills that build confidence and credibility
  • High emotional intelligence with a demonstrated ability to build authentic relationships
  • Ability to drive stakeholder mapping, develop relationships with senior stakeholders, and maintain a network of relationships to promote partnerships and fundraising goals
  • Exceptional ability to analyze business situations from multiple viewpoints to identify opportunities and design proposals that cater to donors’ philosophies and interests
  • Creative, out-of-the box thinking with respect to potential partnership models and capital solutions for funding growth opportunities
  • Advanced strategic and project management skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, self-sufficiency, and adaptability
  • Collaborative approach that includes working with multiple groups both internally and externally

Preferred

  • Experience working in public health or international development
  • Experience with institutional fundraising ($500K+ grant size)
  • Experience working with disruptive technologies and / or in white space industries
  • Experience working in high growth / fast paced environments
  • Ability to travel ~25%
