Job Summary

We’re looking for a smart, hard-working, and humble finance professional who will optimize Health Catalyst’s financial performance, and further its worthwhile mission, by guiding the company’s pricing efforts, acting as the finance head on the deal desk, and facilitating sales pipeline analyses to inform the financial forecast.

This role will be responsible for managing and developing the company’s pricing strategy across multiple business units and solution areas including Technology and Professional Services. This person will spend most of his or her time in Excel and building out pricing models, modeling specific contract/partnership opportunities, and identifying risks and opportunities for improvement. Additionally, to be successful in the role, this team member must also partner with the management teams of several cost centers including Sales, Technology, and Professional Services. The company will rely on this role to measure pricing performance relative to targets, develop new pricing models, and perform pricing and sales analyses by business unit. In every aspect of this role, this person’s work product will be highly visible and relied upon by the company across multiple levels - from the finance team to the executive leadership team.

Compensation and title are flexible based on candidate’s experience level.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Manage the company’s internal pricing model and develop new pricing strategies in conjunction with new contracting models and the development of newly built or acquired solution offerings
Assist business unit heads in understanding unit economics of their offerings and solutions and facilitate pricing development based on cost structure and market data
Coordinate and manage the price quote generation process across all sales opportunities and ensure proposal structure aligns with agreed upon scope
Understand the company’s product and services solution portfolio, unit economics, and financial forecast and assess risks and opportunities to the forecast based on pricing trends
Assist with sales related analytics including pricing trends, pipeline change and pipeline conversion trends, pipeline by business unit to inform the financial forecast
Act as finance approver on the company’s deal desk and review key terms and pricing structure of all sales contracts to ensure completeness
Create dynamic deal models for innovative proposal and contract structures and assess impact to the company’s financial forecast and overall financial profile
Benchmarking Health Catalyst pricing and sales performance and efficiency relative to comparable companies and work with stake-holders to establish goals
Scale the company’s pricing processes by establishing process workflow and guidelines in conjunction with sales, finance, and legal teams
Prepare management reports to present to the department heads, executive team, and the Board of Directors

Education & Relevant Experience

Bachelor’s degree
4-10 years of finance experience (FP&A/Finance lead, Investment Banking, Accounting, VC/PE, and/or Management Consulting)
