Overview

OpenX, the world’s largest people-based advertising exchange, is seeking a Vice President of Sales Strategy & Operations for our Business Development team. This position will play a critical role in developing and executing the strategy for the OpenX Buyer and Publisher Development sales organization in the US and Europe. 

Reporting directly to the SVP of Buyer and Publisher Development, this important member of the team will have a unique opportunity to influence the direction of OpenX as it solidifies its position as the foremost identity-based programmatic supply side platform. The VP of Sales Strategy & Operations will ensure the sales organization remains focused on serving the needs of brand advertisers, agencies and publishers while implementing the right reporting and measurement systems to operate an efficient and results-oriented business. 

Candidates should have a solid understanding of business strategy, financial planning and experience in digital media and programmatic advertising. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement annual strategic plans for both the buyer and publisher development sales organizations in the US and Europe

  • Lead a team of financial analysts focused on managing and steering the revenue operations of OpenX

  • Carefully monitor industry trends and provide recommendations and guidance to the executive team on the company’s direction and areas of focus

  • Manage account lists, forecasts and sales pipelines, providing regular performance updates vs. projections

  • Create and implement sales incentive plans for the various business development teams, designed to measure critical KPIs and drive the right sales-focused behavior

  • Oversee account planning process for the buyer and publisher development teams, including opportunity assessments and strategic action plans for all key brand, agency and publisher accounts

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of financial and strategic planning leadership experience at a sales-focused organization

  • A solid understanding of ad tech, SSPs, DSPs, the programmatic landscape and media supply chain

  • Strong executive presence and high comfort level collaborating with senior leadership within an organization

  • Excellent analytical and data-driven mindset and an ability to solve complex problems

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
