Job Description

To continue our solid growth, we are seeking a talented and highly motivated contract IT Support Specialist to join our growing organization and IT group. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting users on Windows and Apple workstations, and experience in a healthcare, medical device, or other highly regulated industry. They will be responsible for owning user tickets from start to finish, directly resolving tier 1-2 issues and coordinating vendor and senior internal resources for T3+ issues. They will be expected to be able to communicate seamlessly with both a general user base and with highly technical peers about issues and translate complex problems to understandable solutions for users. They will also be responsible for some new-hire setups and computer/printer/phone deployments. This role will have on-call responsibilities for 3rd shift hours, as outlined below. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the face of IT to the user population, providing excellent customer service over the phone, email and in person.
  • Image and deploy new computers and software, setup accounts in Active Directory and various applications as needed, and train users on basic functionality of our systems.
  • Use strong documentation skills to ensure that tickets and databases are kept up to date with relevant information.
  • Be primary on-call member for 3rd shift - midnight to 8AM - and must be able to quickly arrive on site in Billerica MA if an issue at that time requires hands-on support and coordinate with senior IT staff and vendors as necessary for emergencies. 
  • Weekly hours are expected to be ~40 total with flexible 1st shift time based on how many 3rd shift calls/hours are worked. 3rd shift calls are expected to be infrequent, but of high priority/sensitivity when they happen. 

Requirements:

  • BA/BS and/or technical certifications (Microsoft/VMWare certification, A+, etc.)
  • 3+ years in IT user support
  • Experience in a healthcare or medical device company, or other highly regulated environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current & future PC, mobile & tablet computing technology
  • Understanding of ticketing workflows, prioritization, and SLAs
  • Windows 7 and 10
  • MS Office applications, including o365
  • G-Suite / GMail
  • Familiarity with enterprise security tools (Antivirus, encryption, others)
  • Basic network troubleshooting (understanding of gateways, subnet-masks, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
  • Active Directory, preferably in a multi-site environment
  • Lift/carry up to 25lbs regularly, occasionally 50lbs as necessary to assist racking heavy servers or moving printers

Nice to Haves:

  • Label printer troubleshooting experience, eg: Zebra
  • Apple OSX experience
  • N-Central or other RMM tool (Kaseya, SolarWinds RMM, Connectwise Automate, etc.)
  • Powershell or other scripting/automation experience
  • Okta administration
  • Audio/Visual conferencing, specifically Zoom
  • Experience in a GxP/GMP environment
  • Windows Server 2012R2 to 2019, VMWare, NAS/SAN, or other enterprise infrastructure
