What We Are Looking For:

Persado is looking for a Business Associate in our Vertical Strategy team in New York, NY. This is a key role that works closely with our customer success teams to help understand, build, and articulating business cases that describe the value delivered by Persado on our clients’ businesses. These business cases incorporate key client initiatives and imperatives, and forecasts the financial impact across various strategies, tactics, and channels.

The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, quantitatively oriented, comfortable working with ambiguity, confident in presenting their work, bright, ambitious, self-driven, hard-working and flexible. He or she will also have the following qualifications:

Who You Are:

  • Have experience in developing business cases in MS Excel or equivalent software
  • A total of at least 5 years of successful experience developing models for financial, operational, planning, or GTM functions
  • Be comfortable presenting and reviewing your work in front of internal and external senior executives
  • Have the ability to develop defensible and contextually appropriate assumptions in the absence of complete data sets
  • Ability to create executive summaries that briefly describe the key takeaways from a business case, key assumptions and weaknesses, and ways to improve the predictive power of the business case
  • Comfortable doing industry research and describing industry trends in easily digestible narrative form
  • Ability to develop strategic briefs based on client specific research to describe a client’s specific issues, likely industry challenges, and guidance for internal teams on likely client pain points
  • Capacity to work independently with limited supervision
  • Intellectual curiosity is critical
  • Must be enthusiastic, professional and highly proactive
  • Thrives on finding intriguing solutions to ambiguous problems
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to shift gears quickly and efficiently
  • Dependable and reliable with clear thinking and attention to detail

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in presenting to senior executives
  • Experience in the financial budgeting and planning processes
  • Industry career experience in relevant verticals of retail, financial services, insurance, healthcare, telecommunications, and technology
  • Math, statistics, or science degree or background

What We Want You To Do:

  • Develop arms-length business cases for target clients
  • Research industry and clients in order to develop assumptions where hard data may not be available
  • Create executives summaries of business cases for internal and external senior executive consumption
  • Develop strategic briefs for target clients based on primary research, prior discussions with clients in similar industries, and aggregation of institutional knowledge
  • Present business cases to both internal and external senior executives
  • Present strategic briefs to both internal and external senior executives
  • Cultivate relationships to help validate business with clients
  • Assist account teams in understanding their client’s vertical and articulate how to align the account team’s activities to the client’s imperatives and industry-specific needs
  • Limited travel, <20% depending on vertical, client portfolio, and role
