Requirements
What will I be doing?
As Head of Data Services within the Data team, you will be responsible for THGs data integrations and applications. Working in a mixture of private and public cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Openstack, Google Cloud) you will be working on software engineering projects that directly benefits teams across THG, its clients and customers.
Here are some other things that you’ll be doing:
Autonomously plan, design, communicate and execute data projects
Lead creation of high quality production-strength software and systems
Ensure delivery of software that is scalable, globally distributed and high availability
Communicate with technical and non-technical audiences on projects
Instigate code reviews, peer programming and knowledge sharing sessions
Build processes to provide technical support for systems and user requests
What skills and experience would I need?
Excellent Python skills, including the ability to provide technical direction to others in the team
Experience building and maintaining data infrastructure and systems
Demonstrated ability to manage technical teams
Proven track record of developing people, including strong performance management principles
Versatile and able to investigate new technologies
Able to interact with various software engineering teams on a regular basis to identify requirements and propose solutions
Proven ability to manage workload between BAU and project work
Focus on high-quality, reliable and fault tolerant software/systems
Adapt to new technologies and technical challenges
Support project delivery with pragmatic estimates and progress tracking
Work collaboratively and support colleagues with areas of weakness
Excellent verbal and written communication
