Spire Global is a space-to-cloud analytics company that owns and operates the largest multi-purpose constellation of satellites. In addition to its constellation, Spire’s data infrastructure includes a global ground station network and 24/7 operations that provide real-time global coverage of every point on Earth.
The Customer sits at the top of Spire’s technology stack and drives the priorities and focus across our organization. The sales team is on the front lines of building those relationships externally as well as communicating those requirements internally. We are looking for a seasoned sales professional to drive sales activity in the US Federal Government region under our VP and General Manager Government Solutions Team. It requires an autonomous self-starter who can also collaborate daily with marketing and product development and build connections across the whole Spire organization.
Responsibilities of your role:
- Work directly for Spire’s Senior Director of Sales - DOD of US Federal to source, qualify, develop, and close a pipeline of DOD market new business opportunities
- Lead and contribute to collaborative responses to US Government RFPs and RFIs and solution white papers to solve customer problems
- Engage with customers to understand and respond to highly specific and complex requirements
- Maintain an understanding of the strategic DOD market landscape
- Translate customer requirements to technical staff and complex capabilities to customers
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience selling into the Department of Defense (DOD)
- Experience identifying and closing new opportunities to achieve DOD market sales goals
- Willing to travel as required to achieve DOD market sales goals
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study

- Excellent presentation, active listening, and customer management skills
- Skill working independently and within diverse teams to achieve objectives
- Experience building a customer and industry network that leads to new business opportunities
- Possesses initiative to solicit customer and stakeholder needs
- Experience identifying government contract vehicles for new opportunities
- Skill establishing DOD market industry partnerships
- Comprehensive knowledge of the DOD market to anticipate future customer needs
- Space-to-cloud analytics and orbital services solution development
- Ability to anticipate and stay ahead of quickly scaling business needs
- Security Clearance
