Job Description

Light is a team of creative technologists on a mission to redefine how automobiles perceive the environment using multi-view passive optics. We are a venture-backed, pre-launch startup headquartered in Redwood City, CA. Become a key member of our team as we radically enable automobiles to see better than humans.

Responsibilities

    • Install and validate Light’s autonomous hardware and software systems
    • Develop, modify, debug device drivers and scripts on Linux based systems
    • Conduct preventative maintenance, calibrations, and on-going system troubleshooting; this is a “hands-on” job
    • Automate routine vehicle configuration tasks and help to develop a system that can be replicated in customers’ environments
    • Document all vehicle tasks and issues
    • Lead the integration effort of Light’s platform in customer vehicles, including power, electrical and software integration
    • Effectively communicate and collaborate with the engineers, program managers, product teams, and operators to ensure that our vehicles are well maintained
    • Ensure procedures are followed and checklists completed on a daily basis with proper escalation procedures as necessary
    • Respond to and handle customer issues with expediency and composure

Requirements

    • BA/BS degree in CS, EE, or related field with a strong mechanical aptitude
    • 3+ years practical experience
    • Strong C/C++, Python, and shell scripting experience in a Linux environment
    • Diagnostic troubleshooting/experience with vehicle or robotics systems including electrical and mechanical sensors, cameras, computers, and other associated equipment
    • Ability to read and understand hardware schematics
    • Detail oriented, highly organized, with a passion for continuous learning
    • Experience working with EVs and/or Autonomous Vehicles a plus
