Headway is building a new mental healthcare system, rewired for access and affordability. 
 
We all know someone that has struggled with mental health - 1 in 4 people have a treatable mental health condition - but the overwhelming majority don’t get the care they need. The primary reason is cost - seventy percent of therapists don’t accept insurance, meaning paying for therapy is usually very, very expensive. 
 
Headway is building the first national, virtual network of therapists who accept insurance, helping providers to expand their practices, and individuals to finally find a therapist they can afford. And we’re doing it all through software. 
 
We launched in April of 2019 and are already powering thousands of therapy appointments every single day. To scale our mission, we’ve raised funding from the world’s preeminent VCs (backers of Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, Uber, Oscar) as well as the nation’s most innovative healthcare entrepreneurs (founders of One Medical, Flatiron Health, and Clover Health).

About the role
 
Headway is looking for our first growth marketing hire to help us build repeatable, predictable systems that generate thousands of qualified leads at scale. You’ll come in and stand up foundational tools and systems that power at-scale lead generation at Headway, owning experiments that will drive up key metrics in our funnel and large scale outbound campaigns across the lifecycle that will generate thousands of qualified leads each month. As our first marketing hire, you’ll work closely with Headway’s cofounder and Head of Growth to define exceptional looks like, starting with email marketing and standing up other channels once that’s in place.

You’d be a great fit if…

    • You know how to go from 0 to 1: you’ll be our first growth  marketing hire; you have 5+ years of experience building high performing lead generation machines from the ground up, with direct experience in email marketing 
    • You have a deep understanding of digital marketing channels and funnel optimization: you’re equally comfortable building a newsletter as you are managing an Adwords campaign 
    • You are deeply analytical: You know how to set up, deploy and analyze experiments, and you can separate signal from noise and engage quantitatively to make recommendations about where we should invest or descope
    • You are creative and experimental: You’re an expert when it comes to rapid experimentation, capable of deploying small-scale experiments to help us validate strong beliefs and ensure we focus on the right channels
    • You are rigorous and detail oriented: You’re going to own experimentation end-to-end
    • You pay attention to the details to make sure things are set up the right way and our learnings are valid
    • You are energized by ambiguity: You’re going to be the first marketing hire at Headway, and you’re deeply energized by the prospect of building something from the ground up
Headway is currently remote, and will be for the foreseeable future. However, once it is deemed safe to do so, we will be returning to our office in NYC.
