About CloudNC

CloudNC uses AI and cloud supercomputing to control CNC machines more efficiently than humans can.

Job Description

Location: Currently remote. When safe, would need to be willing to travel to London office (Liverpool Street) on a weekly basis. We are flexible with working from home days and flex hours.
Who are CloudNC?
More than £100Bn worth of components are produced using CNC Machines every year, but today the process is slow, costly and heavily reliant on human input. We are developing technology that fully automates CNC manufacturing, hugely reducing the cost of parts while boosting quality and speed of delivery.
By developing autonomous, flexible factories with this technology at their core, CloudNC is working to make the dream of fully automatic manufacture a reality.
The People & Talent Team
The People & Talent team are a key function that has driven CloudNC's growth to date and continue to attract, hire and support the best talent in the market to be successful at CloudNC.
The talent team are highly collaborative with hiring managers and employees and deeply immerse themselves in understanding our factory operations, technologies, product roadmaps and culture.
We're a team of naturally curious individuals who want to understand the full context around hiring for a particular role and lead on prioritisation meetings with stakeholders.
The talent team are business partners and hands-on with sourcing and maturing talent operations. Additionally, they autonomously own their own reporting, stakeholder management, process design, continuous improvement actions and have great exposure across the business presenting in our company wide 'All Hands'.
This team are experts in pitching and closing. Our talent team knows that attracting top talent requires detail and they're able to pitch the mission, the big picture and down in the details around a particular technology or factory process.
The talent team value quality over quantity. We measure success based on low volume and high conversion. Using their experience and judgement plays a key part in the candidate conversion and maintaining high offer and acceptance rate.
The People and Talent team collaborate together often on culture ideas, attraction innovation, interview coaching and feedback capturing. We have daily stand ups, regular 1:1s, socials and we have balance meaning we have team down time and fun along the way!
What you'll be doing...
This is an opportunity for a junior recruiter/sourcer to autonomously lead on building continuous talent pipeline and nurture talent communities within the UK and internationally.
You'll sit on hiring meetings with our People Director to scope out and understand hiring requests for candidates within the manufacturing and technology space in order to attract and target the right talent.
You'll create attractive and inclusive approaches to communicate with passive and active talent. To source top talent within the manufacturing and technology space you'll use various searches, and judging when to follow a narrow or wide search approach.
Using a variety of sourcing platforms and tactics to finding potential candidates in a large array of networking groups and online communities. You'll also ensure our applicant system is clean and up to date, and can create your own reports through the system.
You'll need to support and retain candidates in the introductory process providing speed and details required to retain interest. You'll regularly update the applicant system with accurate and detailed candidate information. You'll also regularly update and communicate with talent pools so that if they are not looking right now, when they do, they contact you first.
You'll actively build relationships with our internal teams, using those relationships to gain referrals and deeper insights into the business, roles and teams you're recruiting for to support your work.
Initially the role will source broadly across our roles, with a medium-longer term view to have laser focus on continuous pipeline for three key verticals which include software engineers (C++ and Java) and CNC Production Engineers.
What you'll receive...
We are nothing but our employees, and as such you'll be supported with excellent salary, great hardware including high-performance computers, phone, headphones, top of the range private healthcare (incs dental, worldwide travel and discounted gym), company expense card, plus 28 days holiday (& bank holidays) on a pro rata basis. We also have hack days every month with lunch provided and team socials.
We care about learning and development offering relevant training, mentoring, self development time and conference tickets. We offer the opportunity to be involved in shaping the company through our feedback platform 'Peakon', company wide All Hands, company OKR (goal) setting sessions, 'Ask Me Anything' time and our diversity and inclusion network.
What's going on with remote working...
London teams are currently remote. Regardless of where you live, you'll receive all your merchandise, equipment and desk set up to your home.
We have always used a great tool called Enboarder to capture information about you and what you need to be successful before you start. Through Enboarder we send you lots of company information and points of contact beforehand. We're here to answer any questions you have!
We're onboarding software engineers remotely. Our feedback score for remote onboarding is 9.4/10 and we have improved this even further! We have a People team member solely dedicated to ensure your onboarding experience is a great one.
Your first day you will include an introductory session with the People Team to support you with using our systems, processes, communication channels and understand our org chart. You'll be matched to a trained 'buddy', another team member, who will support you with anything in your first three months. We also ensure you are meeting (virtually) with your immediate colleagues within your first day.
Every week we run a company-wide All Hands where you can see very quickly what everyone is working on and what we've achieved and ask questions. Manager 1:1s and team stand-ups operate as usual.
We're still running virtual socials and time to have virtual coffee catch ups with others! Every team member has a personal spend allocated for 'catch up with a colleague' time, when restrictions allow, you can use this to meet other colleagues in person for coffee, lunch, or dinner as you wish.
Our factory has restricted access and enhanced health and safety measures, where software engineers visit in small groups to deep dive into operations, our machines and collaborate with factory SMEs.
We're a match if...
You have some experience in recruitment/sourcing for talent (preference for technologists, but not essential). You know your way around LinkedIn Recruiter as the starting point. You have excellent written English skills. You ideally are familiar using an applicant tracking system (we use Lever). It is essential you have a fast learning ability. We're also interested in whether you like building/making/crafting things also in work or as a hobby.
You will need to be comfortable with repetitive behaviours as well as getting creative with different sourcing strategies (taught but also through your own ideas) and market mapping. You will need to be data driven to analyse recruitment reports and candidate behaviours, to spot trends and patterns to work tactically and strategically. You will also care and be excited about being fully responsible for building communities and nurturing large networks in different ways.
You are naturally proactive and equally quick to react to situations and new information, keeping momentum in moving a recruitment pipeline along, focussing on delivering great introductions for both candidate(s) and hiring manager(s).
You're a team player who will leverage resources and support around you to strategise, brainstorm and answer questions to ensure talent pipeline is continuous and to a high standard.
Most importantly, you believe in a great candidate experience. You appreciate the need for attention to detail and a well crafted approach. Being the first point of contact to candidates, you'll be our trusted ambassador who can learn about us very quickly and be happy to collect, deliver and present the right level of information (technically and culturally) in order to attract the best talent in the market.
