The Role
The Assistant Controller role owns the Finance and Accounting function within the H1 Finance team. Working closely with the business, the role will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring business processes, and accounting policies to maximize efficiencies, in addition to executing, and owning the month end process, the financial statements, SaaS revenue recognition, and AP/AR/payroll functions.
The position currently has an Accountant as a direct report, with the scope to build and scale the team over time. This role will partner with the business to provide a white glove service and drive business improvements in reporting, data integrity, analysis, and projects with direct access to the Leadership Team.
What you'll be working on
Assist with budgeting and variance analysis and reporting on actuals vs forecast, and prepare Month end value add commentary
Lead month end process, global consolidations and reporting to key stakeholders
Own the tracking and reporting of the Company’s financial metrics and KPIs, and provide insights and guidance to achieve financial goals
Manage account reconciliations and ensure overall health of financial statements
Drive implementation of Sage Intacct, and manage salesforce integration
Own internal and external audits
Communication with tax consultants, filing of annual and periodic corporation tax, sales tax and payroll taxes as required
Manage the Company’s subsidiaries including transfer pricing initiatives
Business Partnering
Special projects as required
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent; CPA qualified
5 years or more leading a Finance and Accounting team
SaaS experience preferred
Proven solid analytical skills, and US GAAP technical accounting knowledge
Ability to meet deadlines and work in a high growth, fast paced, dynamic environment
Good communication, written, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrates leadership ability/potential
Self-starter with willingness to work hands-on, independently, as well as with a group
Dedicated and detail oriented
Proficient with Microsoft office functions in particular Word and Excel
