Job Description

Helpshift bridges the disconnect between conventional customer service channels — such as email and phone support — and a growing consumer base that does more on mobile phones and has a strong preference for messaging as the primary mode of communication. Through Helpshift’s AI-powered customer service platform, companies can resolve issues more efficiently, boosting customer satisfaction in the process. Companies such as Tencent, Supercell, Coupons.com and hundreds of other leading brands use the Helpshift platform to provide messaging-first customer support. Helpshift is installed on two billion devices worldwide - that’s 1 out of every 3 smartphones in the world -  and serves more than 820 million active consumers monthly.
 
We are seeking a highly motivated technical Revenue Manager with a CPA who has public accounting and/or start-up experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with cross functional teams to fully understand Helpshift's offerings and products to work with our engineering, financial systems, and finance team to implement new changes to our revenue systems, processes, and controls, as well as manage the ongoing billing and revenue recognition processes.
 

Responsibilities

      • Technical:
      • Handle the accounting implications of pricing changes, growth agreements, and ensuring appropriate recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
      • Provide technical accounting and recognition advice to Sales teams, influencing optimal agreement structures to minimize financial risk.
      • Develop accounting memos to ensure revenue recognition following company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards under ASC 606.
 
    • Operational:
    • Assist with monthly close procedures to ensure timely and accurate closing of the books for internal and external reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
    • Manage the credit and collections for the company.
    • Advise business partners on developments in accounting and financial reporting, related company policies and the external regulatory environmentPrepare process flows, documentation, and workbooks for new products and business changes.
    • Support contract negotiation, contract reviews, and revenue accounting monthly close.
    • Review close activities over complex accounting areasParticipate in accounting audits and assist with revenue financial disclosures.
    • Work diligently on finding solutions to critical issues, lead special projects as needed, and drive issues/projects to successful completion.

Requirements

    • CPA required
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent, from a leading undergraduate institution
    • 5+ years total revenue/accounting experience, with public accounting, high growth start-up, and SaaS experience
    • Expertise in current GAAP standards and ASC 606 and launching new products/business changes into accounting operations
    • Performed a billing system implementation
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and experience in working with stakeholders across all levels within cross-functional and multi-country-based teams
