Job Description

The Core Host team is at the core of powering this mission, responsible for making sure that there is always the right type of place available for our guests. The team does this by ensuring that we have the right supply, at the right time, in the right place. We work to ensure that more homeowners join and thrive on Airbnb, that we support them and create a vibrant and activated community, and that we build best-in-class new verticals of inventory like boats or RVs.

As a Data Science Manager within the Host team, you will leverage Airbnb's rich data set to increase the number of hosts in our community and enable more matches with guests. You will interact with a global and cross-functional team to:

  • Build new products that will delight our hosts and help them be successful on Airbnb
  • Design experiments to measure the impact of new features on our marketplace
  • Design new data products to surface the right information, at the right time, for our hosts
  • Run strategic analysis to help inform the strategic direction of our fast growing business

Qualifications

  • 8+ years industry experience in a quantitative analysis role
  • 2+ years of management experience in analytics/data science
  • Comfortable in SQL and proficiency in one of the analytical tools such as Python, R, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and drive technical and impactful roadmaps for the business, and lead seamless execution of it
  • Ability to identify critical business problems and create analytical/modeling solutions
  • Ability to translate complex findings and results into a compelling narrative
  • Background in statistics and experimentation or acquired knowledge in this area.
  • Passion for management and creating opportunities for career growth for team members
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to cross functional partners of varying technical levels
