Job Description

Our team is looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape the future of the Roamly insurance team at Outdoorsy. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and owning product UX/UI across the Roamly insurance org, partnering closely with product, engineering, data, and marketing along the way. You will work closely with product designers, product managers, and engineers to envision, design, and prototype new insurance products, features, and initiatives.


As a member of the Product Design team, you will be responsible for developing and continuously leveling up our design efforts through a user-centered approach utilizing research, data, interaction and visual, and product thinking skills. You will be working in a fast-paced environment meaning we work closely and collaboratively across the organization. You are expected to approach complex problems holistically and create simple, yet refined solutions for a multi-faceted insurance product.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Evangelize product design within the company and design ecosystem.

  • Partner with product and engineering to plan strategically and think tactically, helping define the future of the Roamly team and roadmap.

  • Lead and attend critiques, planning sessions, and collaborative cross-functional meetings.

  • Collaborate with product managers and tech leads to create next-generation features for insurance technology products and services

  • Shape and refine our insurance design efforts through user research and data, while executing high-quality design work including wireframes, mockups, user journeys, and multi-platform interactive prototypes. (Mobile and web)

  • Take concepts from ideation to execution, creating a unified end-to-end experience collaborating closely with design, product, and engineering along the way.

  • Proactively mentor other designers to improve our process and craft.

  • Contribute to and refine our design system and toolset.

  • Design delightful and intuitive growth-minded experiences for Web, iOS, and Android.

  • Uphold and contribute to our design quality standards


Experience Profile:

  • 5+ years of experience in an individual contributor role, on a cross-platform product design team (iOS, Android, Mobile Web, Desktop, etc.)

  • Has led large scale product initiatives/redesigns in the past

  • Extensive knowledge and expertise designing UX/UI with current tools (Sketch, Framer, etc.)

  • Experience with high fidelity prototyping as a means to explore and convey design solutions

  • Experience conducting or utilizing qualitative/quantitative user research and data to validate design solutions

  • Has ability to make data-driven decisions

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellence in design craft

  • Excitement to try new things and thrive in ambiguity

  • “Systems thinking” ability

  • Portfolio of beautiful, detail-oriented design showcasing interaction, visual design, research, typography, and ideation.

  • Ability to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, diverse cross-functional team in a dynamic, rapid growth environment

Education Criteria: A Bachelor's degree and proven Product Design experience (5+ years) is required, preferably in high growth technology companies.


Compensation: A competitive compensation package will include a base salary, an incentive plan, equity participation, and benefits.
