Job Overview

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is the recipient of inbound leads from multiple marketing sources including events, webinars, web-site actions such as downloading of whitepapers, contact requests, content syndication, paid social programs, general web search, etc.  The SDR will efficiently follow up with dozens of leads per day for the purposes of establishing contact and qualifying the interest shown in AAI.  Multiple calls and emails are often required to achieve this outcome.  The ultimate objective is obtaining sufficient information to consider the lead qualified (via a specific set of criteria) and gain the commitment of the prospect to a one-hour discovery and demo call with an Inside Sales Rep (ISR).

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Be an expert at giving the AAI “elevator” pitch
  • Engage prospective customers (leads) and use insightful questioning to gain a detailed understanding of their interest
  • Using specific qualification criteria, determine which prospects are genuinely ready to be engaged by an Inside Sales Rep (ISR)
  • Gain agreement and commitment from the prospect to engage in a one-hour meeting with an ISR for purposes of further discovery and to learn more about AAI solutions
  • Clearly document findings during the qualification calls and provide details in the required MQL form
  • As the first point of contact, the SDR must create a favorable and professional experience for the prospect, compelling them to want to learn more
  • Without diving too deep into technical details, the SDR must be able to speak about AAI solutions from use-case, industry, and functional role perspectives
  • Meet or exceed all activity metrics assigned
  • Consume all internal training to maintain strong product knowledge, high-level subject matter expertise, and key differentiators over competitors
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all activities and conversations in required systems including SFDC

Key Metrics

  • Daily activity targets for both phone calls and emails
  • Conversion rate from assigned leads to MQLs
  • Total number of MQLs created daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly
  • Consistently pass quality assurance review of created MQLs

Qualifications

  • 4-year university or accredited college degree required. IT, Engineering, Business degrees preferred but not required
  • Prior SDR/BDR/MDR experience in a high-tech environment is greatly valued, although not 100% required
  • French and German fluency is required
  • Effective combination of both selling skills and technical acumen
  • Inquisitive nature and quick to learn new concepts and technology
  • Passion for leading edge technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent phone presence and conversational skills
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple programs and initiatives simultaneously
  • Committed, enthusiastic and able to thrive in a fast pace and, at times, demanding environment
  • Able to operate effectively in a teamed environment
