Job Description

Be part of our mission to disrupt the healthcare and democratize the data driven medicine! SOPHiA is looking for a VP Sales (Head of Sales, International Clinical Division) to join the Sales Team team in Europe.

As VP, Head of International Clinical Sales, reporting to the COO, you will have the responsibility for the Sales teams of the International Clinical Division at SOPHiA GENETICS. In this strategic role you develop the sales strategy and drive performance for the offerings and products to hospitals and private laboratories and manage the Head of Sales EMEA, Head of Sales APAC, the Head of Sales Operations and the Head of Customer Experience.

As part of the Operational Leadership Team (OLT), you represent the biggest revenue contributor in the organization today and for the coming years.

Key responsibilities:

Clinical Division Sales Strategy and Execution

    Translate SOPHiA’s 3Y plan into actionable field strategies for the International Clinical division of the company
    Define and ensure flawless execution of the sales strategy to achieve and exceed the company revenue targets.

    Drive and increase booking & revenue of Clinical business segment
    Create and execute action plans to penetrate target territories/ accounts with SOPHiA DDM products and solutions

    Monitor progress of sales opportunities (pipeline).
    Understand the requirements of customers in order to propose solutions that fulfil clients’ needs and maximize revenue.

Sales Leadership

    Provide leadership and sales expertise to the VPs & Sr Directors Sales and their teams so that they can perform above expectations
    Oversee activities and monitor performance of Sales teams and territories. Builds sales plans, assigns territories and sales goals for the region

    Motivates and empowers his/her leadership team and inspires the broader International Clinical team. Is able to motivate performers and appropriately manage bad performance
    Ensure Regional Sales Leaders and SME Managers have the necessary resources to properly perform

    Manage Director, Sales Operations, and his/her team to ensure that the whole process from purchasing order to the delivery of the service/material runs smoothly and accurate sales analytics and reporting is provided

Other Key Responsibilities:

    Stay on top of the performance of your region, report status of the business and provide sales projections to COO
    Generate clear territory plans and coach the team to implement and execute plans
    Travel regularly to meet key prospects, strategic accounts and institutional actors (consortiums, hospital groups, insurances,…) to ensure there is high customer satisfaction in the region
    Act as senior expert and leader in the company voicing customer needs and market trends to the OLT and ET
    Build trusted relationships with cross-functional members of the OLT and broader company to unlock obstacles driving results and bring business priorities for the International Clinical division to the forefront


    Proven experience as a VP Sales or similar leadership role and proven success in Sales
    Strong leader in the diagnostics / data science field
    Must have led International / Global commercial teams
    Experience in Hospital (Clinical) or Lab environment
    Excellent Presentation and Communication skills

    Strong Customer focus
    Results oriented and able to track and presents financial and other business metrics
