About the Role

Our hardware team is growing and we are looking for a leader to guide a team of electrical engineers to develop products that will enable our autonomous delivery service. 

About the Work

  • Manage the architecture and integration efforts at Nuro for one of our robotics programs. Own the design from concept stage through the first customer ship.

  • Work with key stakeholders from product, systems, and software engineering to define requirements, and ensure that our robot designs meet those requirements.

  • Define processes and tools for architecture and integration team.

  • Drive part quality improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency improvements.

  • Communicate technical decisions, development plans, and ongoing issues to management.

  • Support our design validation team in defining and driving hardware test, integration, and validation strategies.

  • Help decide what to do in-house and what to outsource, communicate design requirements with external vendors and help drive the progress.

     

About You

  • Great EE fundamentals. This means you have a deep understanding of why our discipline works the way it does; you've developed an intuition and can apply it to new topics because you understand the basics.

  • Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification.

  • Can-do attitude and strong desire to win. Comfortable and excited to work in a dynamic start-up environment; advancing projects from concept/development phase through launch and mass production.

  • 10+ years of developing and shipping highly-integrated electronic systems.

  • Ability and desire to drive decisions by building consensus with a wide range of stakeholders with the ultimate goal of delivering the right product solution to achieve Nuro’s vision using a logical, data driven approach.

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills to ensure full coverage and timely program progress given aggressive internal goals around vehicle delivery timing.

  • Proven ability to lead, manage, grow, and foster the development of high performing engineering teams.

  • Effective communicator able to ensure alignment across company and partners with regards to vehicle program high level goals, detailed inputs and outputs, and development expectations (timing, maturity, etc.).
