Job Description

Location: At the moment, we are all working remotely. However, our headquarters are in New York, and this position will be based in NYC once we are back to working in-person.

About the Role

We are looking for a Head of People to help us build a high-performing, mission-driven, and kind team as OpenFin enters a period of explosive growth. You will report directly to the CEO and your mission will be to ensure that OpenFin is a meaningful, fun, diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment that is always living our values as our team scales. Through your work across the full-employee cycle, from recruiting to onboarding to individual and team development, you will help make OpenFin the mission-driven place to work and the best career decision anyone has ever made.

Responsibilities

  • People Strategy: Work closely with our leadership team to set and execute our People strategy
  • Onboarding & Development: Train and develop your teammates to ensure values and culture are evident across every step of our People experience and help our culture reach its full potential as we scale, starting with onboarding through the entire OpenFin teammate experience
  • Talent Acquisition: Drive our recruiting efforts, including role definition, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and more
  • Retention: Create foundations to maximize retention, including employee surveys, management training, and more
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Lead our DEI efforts and drive tactical initiatives to ensure that we are creating and maintaining the most diverse, equitable, inclusive, and welcoming culture possible as we grow and evolve
  • Policies and Compliance: Stay up to date with HR legal guidelines and best practices. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws, in both the US and UK. Ensure appropriate controls and documentation are followed to meet security and compliance requirements across all systems
  • Employee Relations: Provide support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise, including carrying out disciplinary or investigation processes when employee issues arise. 

 

What We’re Looking For

  • You have at least 7-10 years of experience in human resources or people operations roles
  • You must have experience scaling an early-stage, high-growth technology company across the full employee cycle, including recruiting, onboarding, and development
  • You have a commitment to and proven track record of building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse team and culture
  • You have an immense passion for creating & scaling an exceptional, high-performing, empathetic, and kind culture
  • You believe that people are the key to every successful company and have a track record of acting on that belief
  • You have analytical rigor and a hypothesis-driven approach to make people strategy decisions and to design and improve critical processes
  • You have a strong desire to coach & improve our organization at every level, including coaching our management team, leading learning & development initiatives, and building out our People team
  • You are comfortable wearing multiple hats and ready to build out the infrastructure across a variety of areas to help our People functions scale
