Our current development pipeline consists of product individuals targeting hepatitis B virus, influenza A, SARS-CoV-2, human immunodeficiency virus and tuberculosis.

The Vice President, Investor Relations, will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic investor relations program to communicate the company’s strategies and progress to the investment community. Reporting to the CFO, the Vice President, Investor Relations, will work closely with senior management, the Vice President of Corporate Communications, and multiple other leaders across the company. This is a critical leadership role for Vir with responsibilities that span strategy and planning, content development and communication, and analysis and insights. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Strategy and Planning
    • Develop annual strategic investor relations program to communicate the company’s strategies and progress to the investment community and adapt pending internal and external events
    • Lead and manage the company’s participation in banking conferences, non-deal roadshows, analyst/R&D days, bus tours, and 1-1 meetings
    • Content Development and Communication
    • Develop an in-depth understanding of the company’s technologies, programs, operations, financial performance, partners, competitors, and strategies
    • Lead development of investor communications, including corporate presentation decks, earnings releases, earnings and other conference call scripts, management Q&As, content for investor tab of the corporate website, and the business section of Form 10-K. Contribute to Board materials, other company press releases, and SEC documents as needed (e.g., Form 8-Ks, Form S-3 fillings)
    • Lead development of briefing materials for management in preparation for investor meetings
    • Provide Regulation FD and general communication training to all designated company spokespersons
    • Serve as primary point of contact for investment community (investors, analysts, exchange representatives, etc.), maintain database of interactions, and convey sentiments and feedback to management
    • Analysis and Insights
    • Track and analyze shareholder base and investment trends for the company, its peers, and its competitors to inform investor targeting strategy and monitor impact of strategy over time
    • Track and analyze sell-side models, including comparison to internal forecasts, to assess expectations and determine implications for analyst and investor communications
    • Work with Competitive Intelligence function and other leaders across the company to understand competitor performance, and industry, regulatory, and other relevant trends, to inform differentiated corporate messaging
    • Additional Responsibilities
    • Support the development and execution of the company’s financing strategy
    • Develop and manage annual investor relations budget
    • Collaborate on execution of the annual meeting of stockholders together with the SEC accounting and legal teams
    • Partner with legal and corporate communications team to ensure all external communications are accurate, consistent with corporate messaging, and compliant with securities regulations

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS

    • BA/BS required, MBA, M.D., or relevant Ph.D. desired
    • 10 years of investor relations experience in a publicly-traded biotech/pharmaceutical company, at an investor relations firm working with biotech/pharmaceutical clients, or on the buy or sell-side working in biotech/pharmaceuticals
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to present and respond to questions about complex scientific and clinical data
    • Deep understanding of capital markets and the financial statements and valuation models used by investors and analysts
    • Well versed in SEC and FDA regulations impacting investor and other external communications
    • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Highly collaborative working style across internal and external teams
    • Unquestionable ethics and integrity
