Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join the Finance team as an Accounting Manager. The position will be responsible for a variety of hands-on accounting responsibilities with strong understanding of the application of generally acceptable accounting principles and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have uncompromising attention to detail, a positive, proactive, curious, team-focused attitude and a strong sense of ownership. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Finance.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for directing accounting functions of the company
• Lead month-end close, account reconciliations
• Inventory management
• Monitor inventory transactions
• Reconcile inventory
• Develop inventory analysis reports and analyze variances
• Assist in the improvement of internal controls related to inventory
• Standard cost revaluation
• Assist with cycle count/physical inventories
• Liaison with outsourced team for closing AP, Revenue, COGS & AR
• Analyze financial information and prepare financial statements
• Analyze costs, volume and profit and make suggestions for improvements
• Assist owners in monthly tracking against budget
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting system and procedures
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Assist in Audit preparation and be key member for Eargo’s first external audit
• Manage payroll – Insperity
• Manage tax filings – sales tax (Avalara), property tax, payroll filings
• Interface with the tax firm for filing of federal and state income tax returns
• Work closely with the Sr. Manager and staff to make sure they are supported in their duties (invoicing, AR, AP, journal entries, etc.)
• Special projects as assigned by company owners

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
• Minimum 5 years’ of experience in public accounting and/or private industry accounting
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• CPA preferred, but not required
• Expert knowledge of NetSuite accounting software preferred
• Knowledge with preparation of consolidated financial statements
• Strong proficiency in MS Office; advanced experience with Excel
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Exposure to contract manufacturing, inventory management and cost of goods analysis
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Exceptionally high attention to detail, organization and accuracy
• Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proven track record of being able to take direction at a high level and to prioritize and plan effectively to meet deadlines
• Excellent people, collaboration and customer service skills
• Ethical and honest
