About Role

This is a remote position and must be located near a major airport on the east coast.  The Director of Sales, Payer will build and manage a sales pipeline focused on selling into regional and national health plans. He or she will have experience working with high level executives within the target organizations, as well as demonstrated understanding of commercial and/or Medicare Advantage plan designs and financial risk arrangements. He or she is expected to bring credibility and connections leading to structuring and closing qualified deals.

Essential Functions

Hit sales and growth targets for the defined region.
Use data to develop a pro-active territory plan that identifies prospects that best fit the Vera ideal client profile for the assigned sales vertical.
Own all aspects of the sales process for your pipeline including prospecting, qualification, needs analysis, solution development, delivering solution, negotiation, and closing deals.
Build strategic plans for key opportunities and prospects to ensure shortened sales cycles and high close ratios.
Work collaboratively across the organization (operations, implementation, product, marketing etc.) to provide visibility into opportunities and pipeline to ensure a smooth transition and client success.
Maintains competitive intelligence and deep understanding of market dynamics.

In-depth knowledge of value-based care models and the healthcare industry.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with executive presence.
Exceptional consultative sales ability: articulating a compelling value proposition, shaping complex deals, and closing large-scale deals.
Must be willing to travel domestically up to 75%
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or 4 years equivalent experience in professional or healthcare business-oriented industry
Five years of sales experience, with at least three years selling into payers.
Experience in working with payers on healthcare strategy (healthcare delivery experience preferred).
