Job Description

In this role, your work will help the advancement of new antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) therapies to treat patients fighting cancer, including ovarian cancer and non-small cell lung cancer.  Specifically, you will develop and design utilities, tools, and processes to support data collection, programming and statistical analysis utilizing technical capabilities to help drive the path forward for Mersana’s technologies.  You will be immersed in a learning organization, with a need to bring an open mind and an interest in mastering this new therapeutic space at a rapid pace.

You will be a member of the Clinical Data Sciences team nested within Clinical Development Operations and report to the Senior Director of Clinical Data Sciences.  You will assist Mersana with building processes and data dashboards and visualizations that drive innovation, teamwork, and efficiency in support of our clinical pipeline.  You will also form working relationships with members of the Translational Medicine, Medical Development, and Clinical Pharmacology teams, and you will have the opportunity to hone your skills in these areas of research and data analysis.  You will also interface with Mersana’s CROs and other external providers as data are needed.

To be successful, you will previously have utilized SAS and TIBCO Spotfire to generate data visualizations, metric reports and interactive data dashboards.  You would be expected to have prior experience using commercial clinical data management systems (e.g.Oracle Inform, Medidata Rave, IBM Merge, etc.) and various data reporting/visualization tools (e.g. Cognos, jReview, Power BI, etc.) within the Oncology therapeutic space.

Your experience within the oncology therapeutic space should include the following to allow you to be successful within this position:

  • Proficiency with SAS, TIBCO Spotfire and Cognos
  • Proficiency with the clinical data collection and data review process
  • Experience with creating SDTM datasets from clinical databases following CDISC guidelines

Some aspects of responsibility for this position:

  • Design, develop, validate and rollout reports/dashboards using business intelligence tools used in clinical research
  • Generation of user requirements and validation documentation
  • Perform quality testing/user acceptance testing of EDC systems
  • Generate and provide ad-hoc listings, reports, and visualizations to various teams upon request
  • Development of metric reports to track data entry and data cleaning efficiencies
  • Drives efficiencies for data review and reporting and assists with development of best practices and data flow solutions
  • Work in tandem with Clinical and Statistical Programmers on various programming tasks to support Mersana’s clinical projects.
  • Liaise with Clinical Research Organizations, EDC vendors and other third-party vendors in support of timelines and data-related technical deliverables.

The other stuff.

This is typically a role best suited for those with a Bachelor or Masters’ level degree in computer science who possess at least 5-7 years’ pharmaceutical/biotechnology/CRO experience.
