You Will:

    • Build a corporate communications team from the ground-up 
    • Create an internal and external corporate communications strategy aligned to the company’s mission, vision and goals
    • Further define and advance Forward’s narrative, brand awareness and sphere of influence/trust in healthcare
    • Co-manage external PR agencies, and hold them accountable in hitting success metrics 
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key press, analysts and influencers covering healthcare and technology 
    • Shape Forward’s point-of-view on industry, regulatory, and other policy-related topics
    • Build and manage relationships with the company's leadership team
    • Execute thought-leadership program, partnering with select leadership team members to develop their platforms through speaking engagements, bylines, company blogs and press interviews
    • Manage Internal Communications Manager responsible for running an internal communications program focused on three internal audiences: Corporate, Onsite (doctors) and Offsite (Care Teams)
    • Draft proactive and reactive communication including responses to media inquiries, press releases, positioning statements, key messages, Q&As and scripts 
    • Execute press and other events, including celebrity and/our dignitary visits, office investor events and more 
    • Demonstrate a deep understanding of Forward’s past, present, and future growth, in effort to communicate our story to members and the media

    • Seasoned Communicator. You can effectively communicate your point of view to people across the company, from intern to CEO 
    • Strategic Thinker. You make connections across the business and apply them to communications initiatives. You anticipate issues and work proactively to resolve them.
    • Proficient in Crisis Comms. You have experience finding solutions in high stakes situations and understand the importance of acting swiftly and calmly in crisis communications situations  
    • Scrappy. You don’t require things to be handed to you. Instead, you think outside the box and get creative on ways to achieve results
    • Results-Oriented. You take pride in consistently delivering high-quality work and you effectively communicate its value to stakeholders.
    • Hyper-Organized. Quite simply, you get things done. You achieve results on time and on deadline while communicating progress along the way. 
    • Collaborative. You bring great ideas to the table and seek out how to include others to make your ideas even better. People value your opinions and love that you respect theirs. 
    • Impactful. You’re deeply mission-driven. You think there’s more to life than software that enables puppy ears to be superimposed in photos (we concede those are cute).

Minimum Qualifications:

    • Seasoned communicator with 10-12+ years of experience working in communications or public relations
    • Internal communications experience 
    • Crisis communications experience 
    • Experience developing strategic communication plans
    • Experience managing external agency partners
    • Strong understanding of media and influencer landscape
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
    • BA/BS

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Mix of in-house, start-up and agency experience
