Job Description

Rainforest QA is looking for a Technical Writer to lead the retooling of our help center.  Working with Product, Customer Service and Support, this role will help develop the new voice of our help center including tone, content and layout. This is a temporary, part time position. 

Objectives of this Role

    • Develop and rewrite comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards
    • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience
    • Develop a consistent voice across all help and technical documentation
    • Set the tone and writing style of future documentation including formatting and layout
    • Evaluate current content and develop approaches for improvement


    • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand requirements and product functionality
    • Work with internal teams on product and documentation requirements
    • Gather information from internal subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write customer facing documentation
    • Work with development and support leads to identify all documentation gaps

Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field
    • 2-4 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer
    • Ability to deliver high quality documentation clearly and concisely
    • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
    • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail

Preferred Qualifications

    • Proven ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously with ability to properly prioritize
    • Firm understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC)
    • Previous experience working with Quality Assurance teams
