What we are looking for:

The Sr. Director of Content Operations will build a department within MasterClass’s Content team, with a focus on scaling infrastructure and processes to support the class creation lifecycle - pre-production, production, post and delivery - for our next stages of growth.  This role will partner closely with leaders across the other Content departments (Creative, Graphics, Production, Editorial, Innovation) and cross-functionally with Marketing, Talent, Program Management, Product & Engineering to achieve our strategic goals. 

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Partner with functional leaders (Marketing, Business Development, Program Management, Product & Engineering) and the executive team with a focus on class and content development 
  • Auditing, revising and optimizing existing protocols, workflows, and guidelines
  • Working with the people team to optimize hiring, onboarding and training processes
  • Human resource allocation and tracking
  • Lead proactive strategic projects that enable content leaders to better operate their teams, resulting in quantifiable business outcomes
  • Optimize transparency, cadence and consistency of operations communications
  • Liaising with department heads to develop financial plans 
  • Conduct content creation cost reviews to optimize per our strategic goals
  • Supporting special projects as needed

Requirements:

  • 7+ years’ experience working in an operations role and five years’ experience in a management or leadership capacity.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, management or a related field. 
  • A master’s degree in business administration, finance, personnel management or a related field is highly valued. 
  • Professional certifications in personnel management, operations management, data analysis or supply chain management may be useful.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management, resourcing and creative software (e.g. Adobe CC, Smartsheet, Asana, Globaledit) is highly valued
  • Master prioritizer - you know how to find the 20% effort that will drive 80% impact
  • Demonstrated success innovating solutions to optimize productivity and profitability.
  • Proven knowledge of performance evaluation metrics in a business setting
  • Superior knowledge of industry regulations and operational guidelines
  • Experience working with stakeholders at all levels of a company
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to drive towards a single goal
  • Ability to tackle problems in a dynamic, deadline-driven, and team-oriented environment
  • Entrepreneurial nature with a strong ability to manage through ambiguity
  • Entrepreneurial leadership and organizational abilities
  • High attention to detail with airtight organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Passion for communicating complex ideas in easy to understand ways to a range of audiences
  • Outstanding negotiation skills
  • Passionate about the customer experience, technology, and analytics
