Job Description

As an IT Network & Helpdesk Engineer at DNAnexus, you will have the opportunity to be part of the Technology Team that runs the enterprise behind our genomic sequencing PaaS hosted in the public cloud. Your day to day will consist of designing network and enterprise application architectures, supporting new employees with on-boarding, managing existing IT and security systems, administration and operation of our enterprise collaboration tools, break-fix support for mission critical systems, and management/upgrades to our server infrastructure.  This role includes end-user (helpdesk) support for our Prague office and requires a specific background in IT network design and operation. 

The problems you will solve:

  • Improve the stability of our endpoint and network environment by properly diagnosing and correcting reoccurring challenges.
  • Improve the end-user experience by anticipating user needs and executing before users experience a disruption.
  • Recommend and execute upon architecture improvements that reduce user friction, increase stability, and reduce cost.
  • Optimize and manage our endpoint and network management tools including VMWare Workspace One, Cisco Meraki, Google MDM.
  • Increase enterprise application adoption of SSO (e.g. Okta) to benefit our internal users with a smooth and secure login experience.
  • Applications operations experience including JIRA/Confluence, Splunk, GSuite, Box and Salesforce.
  • Have experience with cloud-based Single Sign-On systems and engage hands on supporting an SSO environment with multi-factor authentication.
  • Architect and operate a world-wide consistent and connected network leveraging SD-Wan, client VPNs, and non-VPN remote access technologies.

  • Strong understanding of modern corporate networks (SD-Wan, service-based remote access, device trust, and endpoint machine identity).

  • A self starter that can work independently and collaboratively across multiple work streams without technical program management support.
  • Familiar with system automation technologies (Chef, Ansible, etc.) and prior experience with one or more of the following languages: Python, Bash, Ruby.  AWS Lambda / Azure Functions experience is a bonus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Linux Server administration; familiarity with AWS (EC2, ELB, EBS, S3, R53).
  • Your experience includes at least 2-years of administration of local and remote networks, including wireless, switches, and security appliances. Time spent managing Cisco Meraki networks is a major plus.
