As a Senior Network Engineer, you'll be responsible for Phantom’s Network architecture - including design, security, infrastructure automation, WiFi/cellular networks deployment best practices, VPNs, and more as we continue to scale our internal operations and customer deployments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement Network topology for Internal use, and for customer implementation.
  • Operate a distributed network to support real-time communications over WiFi and cellular networks
  • Lead the design of an internal network monitoring and alerting service - including tool selection and implementation, escalation as needed, and day-to-day reporting.
  • Leverage modern infrastructure such as AWS to implement scalable network solutions
  • Design and enforce all aspects of network security, including authentication, IPS, firewalls, network segregation, content filtering, device hardening and configuration, and support of third party security audits including evidence gathering, walkthroughs, and reporting
  • Communicate with a variety of stakeholders across the organization including Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to support company growth plans and new customer deployments
  • Develop a scalable networking environment and provide IT support for all internal and customer network related issues

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of networking infrastructure and L3 support for latency-sensitive applications, including Firewalls, WAN/LAN Routing, DNS, VPN, WLAN, Cisco technologies
  • Deep understanding of WiFi networks including enterprise access point configuration, latency optimization, and coverage principals, roaming technology, and WAN monitoring
  • Experience with network monitoring tools, automation, packet-level analysis of application and network protocols
  • Must be able to troubleshoot all aspects of a distributed system which would include multiple local/remote locations (Subnets, VLANS) connected via Ethernet/MetroE/Fiber/Wireless, DSL/Cable, VPN, etc.
  • Strong understanding of application and network protocols (e.g., HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, UDP)
  • Experience with Windows and Linux scripting, software tools for network inspection/ability to scope or create new tooling as needed
  • Driven to take initiative and use innovative thinking to find solutions to business problems.
  • An independent worker and team player when needed
  • Willing to own projects from requirements and specifications through completion
  • Comfortable working with customers and guiding them through networking concepts and troubleshooting

Nice to have:

  • Experience with mission-critical mobility systems
  • Experience with video streaming protocols and supporting network optimization
  • Experience with industrial networking and security practices in industrial zones
  • Experience with cloud-based IAM, LDAP & MDM systems, such as Okta, JumpCloud & JAMF
  • Experience with Active Directory & Group policy support that includes the operational support and implementation of medium/large-scale, enterprise-level solutions
