About Humio

Log everything, answer anything, in real-time

Job Description

Humio is a paradigm shift, changing the way people think about log management and systems observability. At the core of this are our people. We believe it's important  to inspire, support, and enable one another, so we've chosen a diverse group of talented, compassionate, and fun people to work with. The work is challenging, but you get the possibility to create your everyday work life. At Humio you have great flexibility to prioritise off-work commitments. We’ve found this to be the perfect mix for us, so if you see yourself as a great match, we’d love nothing more than for you to join us.

We’ve taken off on an exciting journey, and are looking for a Front-end Developer who shares our appreciation for great usability and interaction design. We seek to develop everything with smooth, intuitive transitions and flawless, jaw dropping/surprising design elements in mind. We need you who values the look and feel of a dynamic dashboard that visualizes data in any form. Your task is to develop the frontend of Humio with amazing UI and best in class workflow, and implement delightful UI and UX in collaboration with our designers. To make a long story short - you will be the one to sprinkle awesomeness on top of it all, seeing details and possibilities others don’t.

You’ll find yourself working in a team characterized by creating simple and innovative solutions. You’ll enter Team One where we continuously work to improve and develop the Humio product experience, currently focusing on workflow improvements on our search page, as well as a new generation dashboard visualization. We work in teams of 6-8, who have a high degree of autonomy to decide how we want to work. Performance of our application is key, so we strive to do proper modelling of the problem domain, use a single source of truth in our code, and keep a high level of abstraction and low coupling in our Elm code base. The team collaborates closely with our customers to ensure the solution meets their requirements and provides a great user experience. We like to proactively solve customer issues before they even notice the issues.

The team works creatively, but in a structured manner, with clear priorities. Your inputs are always welcome as we strongly encourage diversion, ownership and commitment from our employees. In general, you will experience a trusting culture throughout Humio - from top to bottom. With this job comes a good opportunity to get close to the customers, close to the development of the business and, at the same time, to be challenged technically and creatively.

The colleague we’re looking for

Success in this position is manyfold, but you’ll thrive in this role if you’re comfortable with proactively prioritising the most value-adding tasks and work independently while always staying in sync with your team’s backlog and the company’s priorities. With your understanding of logs and metrics, you’ll have a well-rounded understanding of Humio as a product. Your curiosity, passion and experience with web application development will ensure you will get off to a great start and hit the ground running. We’re looking for a colleague with great compassion for customers and their challenges, and a desire to build best-in-class UI and visualizations for log management and observability. It’s advantageous if you know your way around modern web technologies, JavaScript, TypeScript, Vega and application- and product development. You’ll also do great if you know Elm, or have an interest in functional programming. If you’re not already an Elm expert, don’t worry - we’ll make you one! Furthermore, we would love for you to have an IT engineering background, Computer Scientist, IT product development or Advanced Web Development background.

Please note that we only hire in Aarhus, Denmark, for this position. Fluency in English (written and oral) is required. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to either:
