Research Associate - Gene Therapy Vector Core

We are looking for a curious, organized and self-motivated individual to work with our Gene Therapy Vector Core team. This is not a typical Vector Core: our Vector Core is an integral part of our novel AAV discovery platform, and members work together to straddle the lines between research, process development, and support. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and develop in a dynamic, next-generation gene therapy environment.

  • Partner closely with the Vector Core Upstream Scientist to receive multi-batch lots of recombinant Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) harvest material for Downstream processing
  • Lead and manage technical and logistical aspects of the Downstream workflow from beginning to end
  • Identify, and implement with the approval of the team, areas of process improvement
  • Write, execute, and comply with SOP and Batch Records and protocols
    • Organize, schedule, and track productions, and maintain a working inventory
    • Participate in research design, execution, data interpretation, troubleshooting & presentation

Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS in the Biological Sciences/Chemical Engineering, Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years industry experience essential
  • Ability to execute laboratory techniques following an SOP or Batch Record
  • Prior experience in viral vector purification highly desired, AAV preferred
  • Experience with Depth Filtration and Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) essential
  • Experience with density gradient purification highly desired
  • Experience with FPLC highly desired, AKTA preferred
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and timelines
    • Strong collaborative, teamwork and communication skills
    • Independently motivated, detail-oriented, and robust problem-solving ability
