The Director, K-12 Marketing and their team oversees brand awareness, demand generation, and ongoing engagement of our existing educator community. This person drives the strategic direction of K-12 marketing campaigns and puts their creative stamp on every aspect of the teams’ work to drive activation and retention of teachers.


  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns that create positive brand awareness for the company and drive demand for our courses.
  • Rapidly execute on initiatives with a strong focus on experimentation, iteration, and measurement of results, regularly reporting campaign performance.
  • Coordinate complex multi-channel campaigns and spearhead cross-team collaboration on all projects, tracking and managing deliverables to ensure on-time delivery and outstanding results.
  • Stay current on marketing trends; work closely with the Schools Team to inform them of best practices.
  • Develop and own strategy for advancing K-12’s web presence.
  • Effectively supervise a team and align their work to meet and exceed OKRs. Write and administer performance plans as needed.
  • Support direct reports’ work such as overseeing the company's presence at relevant industry events; ensuring the Teacher Ambassador program and social media channels meet objectives; staying on budget and strategic with branded items; helping amplify teacher voices and stories; identifying PR opportunities; growing customer engagement; content marketing; and more.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all programs, and all communication channels and platforms.
  • Partner closely with the Director of Marketing Operations and the Inbound Team to optimize lead follow up and conversion from paid channels.
  • Collaborate with the Research Team and Impact and Education Team to identify research and thought leadership opportunities, and support the execution of these ideas all the way through to creative distribution methods and channels.
  • Support the Communications Team to align strategic email nurture and content strategy based on personas and stage.
  • Collaborate with the K-12 Product Marketer to design GTM strategies for new and refreshed courses.
  • Manage vendor and agency relationships to achieve team goals at a high-quality and within budget.
  • Lead internal leadership committee(s) for the K-12 team.
  • Coordinate content and production of internal presentations and annual reports for SVP and leadership team, as needed.
  • Manage the performance and deliverables of department interns, as needed.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Marketing or K-12 Sales and Implementation.
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical skills. Responsible for independently making a broad range of critical decisions with a willingness to take, and own, reasonable, calculated risks.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and proven ability to bring out the best in teammates and direct reports.
  • Excellent collaboration and project management skills; a team player who effectively works cross-functionally.
  • Ability to plan, manage and execute projects within budget and on schedule.
  • Experience in running and managing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Proven ability to generate qualified leads.
  • Experience growing social audiences, with an emphasis on Youtube.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, excelling in the ability to tell compelling stories.
  • A self-motivated problem solver with strong attention to detail, creativity, and organizational skills.
  • Excitement and appreciation for working toward the important, impactful mission of improving K-12 education.
  • Ability to work in a high-velocity startup environment.
  • Experience as an educator or working in education technology organizations preferred.
