Job Description
- Lead to identify, assess, control and mitigate Data Protection risks, in order to ensure that activities are consistent with Data Protection goals and objectives
- Develop the data protection framework, including the identification and incorporation of local requirements
- Stay abreast of developments in data protection practice and law
- Review, maintain and update data protection-related policies and procedures to reflect the regulatory change and the evolving risk profile of the organisation.
- Take ownership and updates of Data Protection training materials and facilitate training when required
- Provide pragmatic data protection advice, striking a balance between legal/compliance requirements and the wider interests of the business.
- Assist on data protection contractual negotiations
- Undertake regular meetings with data owners
- Define the provision of ad hoc data protection support as required
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of data protection and privacy experience in a fast-paced, professional environment
- Relevant professional qualification (CRISC, CISA or CIPP/E) are desirable amongst others
- Prior experience in corporate governance (privacy, security, risk, compliance or audit)
- Prior experience in the technology industry - highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and International data protection requirements
- Strong knowledge of data protection methods, practices and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of information technology, information and/ or cybersecurity methods, practices and regulations desirable
- Strong influencing, negotiating, planning, organizing and analysis skills
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to assess risk and impact from a privacy and data protection perspective
- Excellent communication and people skills
