This role will build streamlined processes and achieve best in class financial and operational reporting using NetSuite, saleforce.com and other cloud based accounting systems. As a Senior Accountant, you will help to drive month-end close processes, including reconciliations and account balance analysis as well as to own NetSuite financial reporting function for this multinational company. This role will also play an integral role in the technical accounting, financial audit and other day to day operational activities.

Responsibilities

      • Payroll
      • Prepared and took lead on regular payrolls, bonus, commission and other one-off payrolls (as applicable for quarterly, semi-monthly, monthly), for parent and subsidiaries – US, Canada, Czech Republic, Ukraine
      • Prepared and documented proper payroll records and reconciliations in the cloud storage
      •  Worked with HR on quarterly audits and yearly audits for worker’s compensation
      • Took lead on verifying state tax filings, as required, and worked with registered agents to set us up in new states
      • Recorded payroll journal entries in the accounting platform with proper supporting reconciliation workbooks. 
 
      • Accounts Payable
      • Prepared a weekly accounts payable process flow with proper reporting, approval cadence and payment cycles.
      • Processed bills and payments through Bill.com, after getting necessary departmental approvals. Processed intercompany transfers and payments. 
      • Took lead in setting up a new vendor in Bill.com by preparing vendor onboarding form, collecting W9s/W8BENs, collecting payment information and updating necessary contact information. 
      • Reviewed expense reports in Tallie before final submission for payment. 
      • Documented all the accounts payable process and proactively suggested process improvements. 
 
      • Accounts Receivable         
      • Recorded all order forms details on invoicing schedule and ensured proper documentation.
      • Prepared customer invoices and ensured timely  approvals from Finance, Customer Success and SalesOps.
      • Established a robust collection process and documentation, along with weekly follow-up on overdue invoices. 
      • Took lead on weekly reporting on invoicing, collections and AR Aging. 
      • Maintained all the customer's payment/billing portal.
 
      • Cash Management and Month Close Process
      • Assisted with month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, bank/credit card reconciliations, intercompany transactions and all balance sheet account reconciliations. 
      • Prepared weekly cash activity reports to build a tighter cash management process and analyzed best ways to improve cash governance. 
      • Prepared monthly financial reporting around sales commission in accordance to ASC606, intercompany transactions and other areas of technical accounting. Took lead on reporting on stock-based compensation and equity.
      • Participated in the preparation and review of financials, footnotes and other monthly reconciliation workbooks. 
      • Assisted FP&A manager with continued monitoring of actuals against the latest forecast of the financial model. 
 
      • Tax 
      • Maintained master company information file
      • Worked with Avalara to review and approve sales tax returns for each state (monthly, quarterly and annual). 
      • Worked on 1099s (MISC & NEC), 3921 and Independent Consultant DE542 filings
      • Worked on city and state tax filings for all the states the company is registered in (including SF city)
      • Worked on DE Filings, CA Franchise Tax Filings, CA SOI, and other tax compliance. 
 

Requirements

    • Good knowledge of different accounting tools such as, NetSuite, QBO, Bill.com, Avalara and Tallie.
    • Sound knowledge and understanding of GAAP and SaaS/subscription revenue recognition.
    • 4 year plus of previous accounting experience. Experience in a high growth technology (Series C or Pre-IPO stage company) is preferred 
    • BA degree in accounting, CPA highly preferred
    • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
