About Faze Medicines

Faze Medicines is a biotechnology company pioneering therapeutics based on the groundbreaking new science of biomolecular condensates. Our entire team is excited by the opportunity to harness this transformative moment in cell biology and translate discoveries in the lab to make a difference for patients.

Job Description

The Role
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a well-funded, venture-backed start-up focused on understanding how the dysregulation of RNA and protein condensates contributes to disease and leveraging this to develop novel medicines for patients in need.  As one of our founding employees, you will be a part of building out the organization, lab and foundational science from inception.
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Research Associate to participate in drug discovery programs that lead to the identification of new targets and drug candidates for clinical development.  Candidates who are keen experimentalists, enthusiastic, creative, and have a passion for drug discovery should apply.
We view you as an important team member whose contributions will be critical to our success.

Those contributions could include:

    • Creating new cell lines to interrogate models of disease with an initial focus on neurodegenerative and neuromuscular disorders
    • Developing tools for compound and genetic screens
    • Identifying and map localization of protein and RNA in cells using immunofluorescence and FISH
    • Working cross-functionally internally, as well as with external partners and CROs to optimize and develop novel assays

Key Qualifications:

    •  Bachelors plus 4-6 years or Master’s plus 2-5 years of experience conducting high quality science in an industry setting.
    • Strong core competencies in molecular biology, cell biology and assay development.
    • Expertise with established mammalian cell culture required; iPSC expertise a plus
    • Experience in genetic manipulation using technologies such as CRISPR, RNAi and lentiviral/retroviral transduction a plus
    • Experience in confocal microscopy and image analysis
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Willingness and interest in doing a little bit of everything and wear many hats to get the lab up and running in a dynamic, creative and fast-paced start-up
We are an equal opportunity employer offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
All applicants should be legally entitled to work for any employer in the U.S.
