AskNicely is the world’s #1 Rated Customer Experience platform with the mission to make Frontline work awesome. We're pioneering a new category of software and we're looking for someone special to help build a movement that improves the daily lives of hundreds of thousands of Frontline workers.

This role, working directly with the CEO, will build our reputation as the leader in customer experience software through a global community that connects, inspires, and educates senior leaders on leading from the frontline.

As our chief storyteller, you’ll work with senior business leaders around the world to learn how they coach, motivate and empower their Frontline teams to make every customer experience awesome, then translate these learnings into content for our FrontlineMagic community and insights that, working directly with our executive team, inform our product roadmap, marketing content and sales conversations. You'll get to work directly with an executive team in NZ and the US and build a network, deep domain knowledge, and experiences that will enable you to write your dream career path in any number of directions.

Specifically, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Research - learn from senior leaders from around the world about how to improve frontline performance
  • Content - produce and promote stories (video, blog, purple papers) that inspire and educate
  • Community - grow FrontlineMagic to be the world’s largest community of Frontline leaders
  • Profile - build a network and social media presence that amplifies our storytelling
  • Events - produce the Global Frontline Experience Summit, coordinating speakers, sponsors, promotion, and production

Requirements

We’re super open-minded on background - maybe you come with a marketing, psychology, media, HR, journalism or design background. You may even be really early in your career but you’ve probably had a number of side hustles.

These are the characteristics we’re looking for - we don’t expect you to have all of them - that would make you a unicorn. But if you can say “yip” to more than 5 of these items and “I’ll work it out” for the rest, we definitely want to hear from you.

  • Storyteller - a prolific content generator with a camera and personality set to "always-on". Be as comfortable in front of the video camera as behind, do the editing and post-production, write the article with substance and charm, then push the promote button that makes it seen by thousands of people. Repeat this feat weekly.
  • Empathizer - perhaps you’ve worked in a frontline role where the people make the difference (like Starbucks, McDonald's, a travel agent, or a great restaurant). We’re here to make frontline work awesome so we need to speak their language and know their world
  • Hustler - would you rather hear: (A) "We've always done it this way" or (B) "No-one's ever done this before"? We thought so.
  • Learner - pre-loaded with the curiosity gene that loves searching for the stories and insights that the world needs to know
  • Force-multiplier - partner with the CEO to boost visibility, productivity and connection with our clients, and the market
  • Multi-tasker - you’ll likely love having many things on the go at one time, project management and self-determination will be second nature. Tasks big or small, you roll up your sleeves because "now" is always a better answer than "later".
  • Researcher - live at the edge where businesses are disrupting stagnant industries to reinvent customer experiences and soak up the latest thinking and practices around how behavioural psychology, culture development, leadership, and technology intersect to shape experiences at the frontline and for the customer
  • Networker - connect with leaders from the world's most customer-obsessed businesses and thinkers that are defining the new to strike up conversations that lead to fresh insights
  • Partner - you have a marketing team and production resources telling the AskNicely story. Partner with the team to make every effort as coordinated and efficient as possible.
  • Designer - bend Final Cut Pro, After Effects and Illustrator/Canva to your will to create visual content and assets that add sizzle to the substance
