About the Role:

The Deals Desk Manager will partner with the Sales team to provide guidance and recommendations on deal pricing, structure, SOWs and contract terms. They work to develop strategies, coordinate and produce proposals, presentations, and Request For Proposal (RFP) responses. Acts as the lead in the coordination of responses, partnering with sales and other departments as needed to complete material for new business development pursuits. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines.


This position reports directly to the Pre Sales Manager and can be located in any of the following US-based locations of San Francisco, Washington DC, New York City, or internationally in Dublin, Ireland.


What you will be doing:

  • Standard and Non-Standard Deal Management
  • Provide deal guidance, governance, and approval on all deal quotes/constructs
  • Ensure adherence to pricing/discounting strategy, compliance policies, SLAs and standard terms and conditions
  • Confirm all non-standard terms are reviewed, approved, and properly documented (e.g. significant changes to legal terms or technical requests outside of product capability)
  • Provide confident, rational, and supported arguments for any rejected deals
  • Serve as the centralized subject matter expert on processes, policies, systems for deal operations.
  • Create Contracts with Statements of Work for the Sales team.
  • Proposal (RFP) Management
  • Be the central intake channel for all incoming prospect RFPs
  • Create and lead RFP Responses, which can include but is not limited to developing and editing proposal content, researching issues, and presenting the response and pitch materials for these new business development pursuits
  • Create and enforce a standard process and timeline adherence for all involved teams and individuals
  • Knowledge Base
  • Manage and evolve the writing copy and content strategy for all RFP responses and deal knowledge through knowledge base instance
  • Create and maintain a hierarchy of special terms that could be used in non-standard deals
  • Support in developing training materials, sales examples and conduct regular contract training sessions – to reduce contract variations between similar deals
  • Operations and Collaboration
  • Anticipate deal activities through regular participation in pipeline reviews and forecast calls
  • Foster relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Partner, Sales, Client Services, Finance, Billing, Legal, and IT to review and prepare approval requests for non-standard deal elements and structures.
  • Continuous process/productivity improvement through the deal life-cycle; focused on deal cycle times, productivity, and precise execution.


What you bring to the team:

4+ years of experience in either a Deals Desk function and/or writing RFIs, RFPs, reports, and articles

  • You have excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
  • You are organized, can set and manage deadlines (for yourself and others), and you have strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • You highly value providing efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to internal and external clients
  • You can comprehend, analyze, interpret, and problem solve complex requirement documents, and you can make coherent inferences and summaries from multiple data points and scattered information
  • You understand and enjoy the research of information when no clear answer is provided
  • You boast advanced skills in Microsoft Office software programs of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • You completed a BA/BS degree or higher, or equivalent job-related experience
