Optessa is looking to hire a Project Manager with 2 or more years of experience to be based in our Hazlet, New Jersey office to manage our customer implementations. The Project Manager must possess a high degree of proficiency in all the areas described below.

  • Work with senior project managers to develop project roadmaps and timelines
  • Share and review work plans with customers
  • Track project status relative to the committed work plan and ensure that the project is staying on track
  • Notify management of any issues which may prevent on-time delivery of project milestones
  • Prepare customer communications such as emails, presentations, work plans, and issues lists
  • Meet regularly with customers to discuss project status and issues
  • Keep customers informed of project progress
  • Address issues raised by customers and respond quickly on raised issues
  • Attend all functional and technical meetings
  • Coordinate the work of the team which may be geographically dispersed
  • Hold regular status meetings to review project status and issues
  • Prepare and distribute meeting notes for all meetings
  • Maintain project status documentation, issue management, change requests, and change control management
  • Coordinate customer deliverables and milestones
  • Ensure that all project deliverables are delivered to customers on time according to the work plan
  • Ensure that all project deliverables are complete as per the Statement of Work, Functional Requirements Specification and Technical Design Specification
  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet customer expectations




  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and supply chain preferred
  • Excellent problem solving, planning, and organization skills
  • Familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfortable communicating with managers at Optessa and external customers
  • Customer oriented
  • Experience interacting with customers
  • Experience with the waterfall software development life cycle methodology
  • Familiarity with Agile processes. Experience working on Agile projects preferred.
  • Negotiation and facilitation skills
  • Change management experience
  • Experience writing technical and functional documentation
  • Able and willing to travel
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or similar project management software
  • Software development experience preferred, especially Java and SQL
  • Confluence, Jira, and Jira Service Desk experience preferred
  • PMI certification preferred (CAPM, PMP)
