BlueVine is looking for a curious, thoughtful, resourceful, and detail-oriented person to join our growing Business Intelligence (“BI”) team!  We are building an elite team of smart and driven individuals to grow BlueVine's business with insightful, accurate, and actionable data analysis. 

As a BI Analyst at BlueVine, you'll work with stakeholders across the business to define, scope, and deliver on analytics needs.  Working in SQL, Tableau, and other tools, your analysis will inform decisions across all functions of the company, across our different locations.  You'll be a key player of our BI team, as we continue to define and report on our metrics.  You'll be part of a driven, fast-paced team, focused on data excellence and thoughtful insights that adapts quickly to the needs of our fast-growing business. This role reports to the Head of BI & Analytics.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Manage and coordinate BI initiatives, scope, design, and deliver analysis and reporting for teams across the company
  • Develop new analysis in SQL, adapt and improve existing SQL queries
  • Build reports in Tableau, improve existing reports
  • Compare reporting outputs to source data, identify data quality issues and resolve
  • Manage monthly reporting data gathering and outputs using SQL, Tableau, and internal BI team tools
  • Work across BlueVine’s teams to understand their data needs and analytics requirements, find ways to reduce time to decision and improve decision accuracy
  • Act as a resource for Tableau and SQL development.  Share best practices and lessons learned
  • Contribute to documentation, best practices, and internal BI training

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

  • BA/BS  in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or equivalent field 
  • 2+  years in an analytics, reporting, BI, or data science role, with a track record of results
  • Strong SQL skills, with ability to perform effective, efficient queries on multiple data sources/ tables and subqueries
  • Understanding of and experience with analytical concepts and statistical techniques – regressions, variable selection, etc.
  • Strong skills developing views and dashboards.  Experience working with visualization and dashboarding systems, dashboarding servers
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint a must
  • Experience working directly with business teams for requirements gathering and reporting delivery
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal
  • A fanatical eye for detail, and the desire to roll up your sleeves and resolve issues
  • Ability to be flexible and comfortable with changing requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment

Nice to Haves:

  • MS in a related field
  • Python coding experience
  • Consulting experience with reputed firm
  • Experience with Redshift or PostGreSQL
  • ETL, ELT and data engineering experience
  • Experience deploying and building Machine Learning, AI models etc.
  • Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, Tableau Server and a publicly available Tableau portfolio
  • Data modeling and advanced statistical, AI, ML  experience
