Job Description

As a Sales Strategist, you will be at the front of Safi’s go-to-market strategy. This includes hunting for leads, mapping out accounts, and building demand for Safi’s products. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop enterprise technology sales skills, advance their careers, and provide manufacturers in North America with tools to become more efficient and successful. You will work closely with the CEO and Americas Lead.

Safi is entering an exciting phase of growth, and reaching the right new customers is vital to our long-term mission and vision. The Sales Strategist will play a critical role in reaching customers in North America who can benefit from Safi’s platform.

The Sales Strategist’s success will be measured by the following:

  • Calls and other activities
  • Conversations
  • Demos scheduled
  • Closed Customers

This role is remote-first, responsible for finding and closing customers on North American time zones. It will start as early as January 2021. Will include commission plan in addition to salary and equity.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will:

  • Hunt for leads, map enterprise accounts, build demand for Safi’s products
  • Ensure we reach and close the right customers who will get value from Safi and stay with us for the long term. Work with the CEO and team to provide feedback on and continually improve product and positioning.
  • Work closely with the CEO and other North America teammates to build and grow the sales pipeline, and continuously improve our effectiveness in reaching the right customers
  • Champion and role model Safi’s values of care, integrity, data-driven decisionmaking, and growth mindset in every interaction.

The position will be remote-first, so can be based anywhere as long as willing to work with customers between Eastern and Pacific time zones in North America. The role reports directly to the CEO. You will be expected to work across Safi’s North America team as well as with talent internationally. This role may include travel in rare cases, when needed.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for reaching manufacturers who could benefit from Safi’s platform. You will work with other teammates on the Sales, Support, and Product teams as needed. Since Safi is a fast-growing company building emerging IoT technology, you can expect this role to evolve over time, with opportunities to take on increasing levels of responsibility and impact our growth.

Roles and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Use prospecting strategies to lead initial outreach to prospects
  • Identify the needs and challenges of the prospective customer
  • Determine the prospect’s interest in Safi
  • Schedule discovery meetings for sales representatives and prospects
  • Close customers and transition them to Customer Success team


  • Excellent phone, writing, and listening skills
  • Self-starter who has a desire to learn, grow, and excel in their role
  • Knowledge of business processes and organizational structures
  • Interest in manufacturing
  • At least one year of professional experience

Nice to have but not essential

  • Experience reaching or exceeding monthly activity goals/quotas
  • Familiarity with software, electricity, or IoT
  • Understanding of manufacturing
