As Compology’s design contractor, you’ll be joining a rapidly growing company dedicated to innovation and forward-thinking design. From ideation to owning each part of the design process, you will leverage your range of design skills to drive Compology’s brand design to create assets that amplify our company’s game-changing solutions. You will lead and deliver on all design and branding efforts as a key extension to the marketing team. Reporting to the Head of Marketing and working closely with the VP of Strategy, you’ll be among a seasoned team that succeeds through collaboration, creativity, flexibility and continuous improvement.

Customers include North America’s largest Fortune 500 companies, publicly traded waste and recycling haulers, all while we’re starting to break into new industries and growth areas like trucking and shipping. Our Internet of Things solution delivers streamlined operations, decreased costs, increased efficiency and productivity, and improved customer experience, while driving companies to reach Zero Waste and sustainability goals. What You’ll Accomplish

  • Design and execute on all aspects of marketing and brand initiatives, focused on creativity, attention to detail, and consistency across applications like the website, email, ad campaigns, content and campaigns, ads, PR, customer storytelling, etc.
  • Ongoing design and creative support for brand marketing across brand and growth marketing channels (organic and paid), customer success and sales to help Compology grow
  • Update/refresh brand guidelines when necessary to internal teams and external partners
  • When needed, partner with UX and product to support holistic prospect and customer experience

Potential Projects

  • Digital asset creation: website asset and module design (light UI/UX), multi-channel campaign assets, digital ads, social media posts, content and collateral  (one-pagers, ebooks, infographics, customer stories etc.), mailers, swag items
    • Static and light animation/motion graphics are primary need
  • Print asset creation: Sales leave-behinds and mailers, public relations support, print advertising
  • Partner with other creative contractors and agencies (i.e. customer storytelling video crew)
  • Culture and recruitment branding initiatives like videos, web pages, office decor, swag

What You Bring

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience working as a graphic, visual or brand designer in-house at small/mid sized companies and/or B2B, or with these type of clients at agencies or in contract/freelance work
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to prioritize & focus on 24-40 hours per month of Compology design work as a key extension of the Compology marketing team
  • Background in general brand design, visual design or graphic design, UI/UX, composition, typography, color; with animation, motion and audio/video production as a plus
  • Ability to design for target audiences on an ongoing basis across a variety of mediums like web, advertising and content; works quickly and flexibly based on Compology needs with turnaround times ranging from one day to two weeks
  • Proficient understanding in creative tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, After Effects, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills - structures projects so others can easily review/pick it up, for example: uses ruler/gridlines to set each design project up for success and redundancy; develops easy to understand/navigate naming structures of ad sets for each revision round
  • Effective communication skills—clearly can articulate creative decisions
  • The ability to work with other freelancers/contractors, production people and agencies
