About the role

We are looking for a Product Manager to work closely with engineers, product designers, and commercial partner managers to lead the development of exciting new capabilities on our platform. Your initial assignment will focus on our Discounting & Promotions capability. Your goal will be to deliver a platform that enables our merchants to create promotions that support their targeted campaigns which are designed to drive sales and conversion. By accomplishing this, you will help strengthen BigCommerce’s market position as the leading eCommerce platform for fast-growing Mid-Market & Enterprise retailers around the world.

What you’ll do:

  • Enable leading promotional capabilities on the platform 
  • Integrate the promotions capabilities with existing areas of the platform (e.g. Channels, Storefront Merchandising, Catalog, etc)
  • Work closely with cross-functional leaders across the organization to ensure that the core commerce platform is enabled with promotional capabilities
  • Partner with our Business Development and Marketing teams to identify strategic opportunities where the promotions capability can unlock new market value
  • Roll up your sleeves and get deep into the day-to-day running of multiple high performing Agile teams.
  • Define user/job stories that effectively capture customers’ problem statements, partner opportunities and solutions

You’ll need to have:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a hands-on product management role.
  • Passion for commerce, marketing and segmentation. You will enthusiastically lead your team (of developers, product designers, and quality engineers) towards the product vision.
  • The ability to take a strategy and translate it into action.
  • Exceptional communication skills. You can inspire and rally teams to solve complex problems.
  • Strong analytical skills. You use data to successfully inform your decision-making to  track and measure your OKRs and outcomes.
  • Empathy for the merchant and genuine excitement for solving merchant problems.
  • Results-oriented mindset. You are able to set clear goals, prioritize them and drive to execute against them.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders as well as external partners to bring the core platform vision to reality.
  • Grit & resilience. Challenges present themselves. You stay cool under pressure and you persist through them until the solution is found, bringing your team along the journey and encouraging them along the way.

Nice to have: 

  • Past experience in SaaS products and platforms.
  • Past experience working on platforms or API products.
  • An engineering background (previous experience engineering solutions/products ).
  • Experience with popular marketing, merchandising or CDP providers (e.g. integrating with Segment, Tealium, Emarsys, Hubspot, Mailchimp, Bloomreach, Acquia).
  • Experience with international providers outside of North America (i.e. Europe, Asia, Oceania, Central America).
