The role:

At Leap, the BizOps Manager plays a key role in the development, implementation and management of systems and workflows which empower a range of teams/groups across the company.  Reporting to one of our two Co-Founders & Co-CEOs, not only will you serve as a thought partner on approach to development of key systems and workflows, but also help support and contribute to research and evaluation of strategic alternatives, new opportunities and stakeholder management. 

 

This is an ideal role for a generalist strong overall business acumen and solid teamwork, analytical and project management skills who enjoys working on cross-functional teams and projects as the company grows.  After 12-18 months, the individual in this role will have gained strong working knowledge and will have built strong rapport with colleagues across the company and, as a result, will have the opportunity for further specialization and advancement as the company grows (if desired).   

 

Ideal location for this role is Chicago, working from home and/or our Chicago office; however the position is open to candidates located in any market in the US lower 48.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Leverage proprietary data and platform advantages to drive and develop new tools/systems and workflows to improve decision making and core operations / operational workflows throughout the business
  • Drive and oversee core business operational workflows, systems and analytics, in collaboration with members of our Product, Engineering, Analytics, Brand Management, Retail Ops and Finance teams
  • Serve as a key stakeholder in the ongoing development of our Product Management, Engineering, People and Finance systems and workflows as the business grows
  • Support our Co-Founder & Co-CEO in developmental research / project management and other strategic work, and stakeholder management including company level performance reporting and analysis, development of Board presentations and other investor materials, and organizational development initiatives

 

Preferred experience, skills & attributes:

  • 3+ years experience in consulting, private equity, venture investing and/or operational role within a high growth startup or other relevant experience
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong teamwork, communication and project management skills
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills (e.g. excel, SQL, etc.)
  • Exceptional attention to operate in the weeds while keeping sight of the big picture
  • Humility, high EQ and high aptitude for learning and self-improvement
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly evolving / growth company environment
  • Data/business analytics and data engineering skills are a plus
  • Eye for design / user experience is a plus
  • Able to travel domestically from time to time e.g. 1-2 times per month, for 2-3 days at a time

  • Successful execution of prioritized projects e.g. on-time / on-budget / on quality as applicable
  • Successful management of core business operational (BizOps) workflows according as per defined measures
  • Successful collaboration with peers/stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Contribution to the development of a team-oriented high performance culture within the company
