The Role

As the Head of Engineering, you will:

    • Determine resource requirements, timelines, and budget to deliver on product milestones;
    • Direct the software development roadmap and collaborate with the rest of the team add new items to it regularly. Make technical and product decisions based on that roadmap;
    • Create and manage sprint schedule for engineering efforts;
    • Code!!! Develop data infrastructure and processes;
    • Build and manage the engineering team and culture. Foster a goal-oriented culture that celebrates wins with creativity and collaboration;
    • Manage external engineering resources. Determine optimal partners for full stack engineering support;
    • Drive to product releases with speed and effectiveness. Push engineering team to deliver output with high urgency and quality;
    • Work closely with our design and real estate teams to create a strategy for how hardware and software integrate to deliver a more seamless resident experience;
    • Dictate deployment workflow process to ensure highest level of productivity;
    • Code reviews to ensure engineers are following best practices.

Here are a few things we think you should have done to be a good fit:

    • You’ve had at least 7 years of experience in software/computer engineering in complex industries where hardware and software interface. Expertise in engineering in real estate, home management, and other build environment platforms is a plus;
    • You’ve worked in developing consumer-facing software that is solving a need that has never been solved before;
    • You’ve overseen API integration and have been actively involved in contract negotiations and partnerships to facilitate said integration;
    • You’re excited by building a full-stack solution to improving the quality and efficiency of multi-family real estate development. You’ve managed teams and really enjoy supporting your teams to be as successful as they can be;
    • You are mission aligned to the belief that people deserve a quality living experience at attainable pricesYou’re a self-starter. You are hungry. You want to make an impact on a $1 trillion industry
