Your role and your team:

This role will be part of the Chief Engineering Programme Management team, which is responsible for the Design, Integration and Certification of our Aircraft Programmes. You will report directly to the Head of Chief Engineering Programme Management and work closely with the Chief and Lead Engineers to manage the development and delivery of the Chief Engineering work packages.

In this role you will use your experience of managing complex fast-paced projects to help the teams deliver Lilium's projects on time, and draw-upon your knowledge of project management best practice to develop fit-for-purpose process and ways of working.


Your Day to Day:

  • You will work closely with the Chief and Lead Engineers to project manage the tasks and deliverables within the Chief Engineering Office work packages, on time, and to budget.
  • You will be part of the Chief Engineering Programme Management Team responsible for delivering the Aircraft Integration, Aircraft System Design, Flight Physics and Flight Test work packages.
  • Support the Lead Engineers working with the Integrated Project Teams in the design, develop, integration and certification of Aircraft Systems.
  • Accountable for the the integrated schedule of those work packages and to work with the Integrated Project Teams and Functional Leads to integrate their development schedules and to maintain accurate resource forecasts.
  • Responsible for work package risk management including management of the risk register, planning of mitigations within Chief Engineering and tracking of mitigations across the Programme.
  • You will ensure that project management data and KPIs are effectively maintained, analyse this data to provide insight into the progress of your projects and assist in resolving any issues arising.
  • You will contribute to the creation of a strong Programme Management function by helping to develop project management processes, identifying best practice and ensuring a consistent approach to project management across all projects.


Your Profile:

  • Undergraduate or Master's degree in a technical field (e.g. Engineering) or experience in a technical aerospace environment in lieu.
  • Minimum of 10 years Project Management experience working in complex aircraft development projects.
  • Strong preference to candidates who have project managed multiple systems within one aircraft development program; familiar with different stages of development, procurement, industrialisation, and certification.
  • Ideally hold a PM qualification equivalent to IPMA Level C or higher.
  • Excellent understanding of techniques for scheduling, risk management, estimation, project communications and budget and resource management.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing cross-functional teams and ability to work closely with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluency in German or any other language would be beneficial
