Job Description
Rheos Medicines is developing an exciting platform for drug discovery and development in the novel area of immunometabolism. We are looking for a highly motivated, collaborative, and innovative computational biologist who will work at the cutting edge of computational biology, bioinformatics, machine learning, Immunology, and systems biology. This individual will play a key role in building Rheos’ computational biology engine to drive target discovery through analysis and integration of multi-dimensional omics datasets.
- Design, implement, and test computational pipelines for high-throughput multi-omics data
- Develop and implement creative computational biology and bioinformatics methods/algorithms for analyses of complex datasets
- Implement machine learning approaches to mine omics and patient data to identify clinical biomarkers of disease
- Develop new predictive tools to be used across the organization, from data scientists to bench biologists and executive team
- Identify and curate relevant large-scale public datasets
- Participate in project teams and contribute to experimental design and data analysis, interpretation and communication of results
Requirements:
- PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field with 2+ years’ work experience or MS with 5+ years relevant work experience
- Extensive experience in computational pipelines for analysis of complex omics datasets, such as single-cell RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, etc
- Familiar with current tools for multi-omics data analyses
- Experience in computational biology or bioinformatics is a must
- Hands-on development of interactive tools for a non-technical audience (R Shiny, python)
- Experience with network biology approaches a plus
- Excellent programming skills in R/Python and/or MATLAB
- Expertise with good practices for reproducible research (Github, Rmarkdown, jupyter notebooks)
- Familiar with cloud computing (AWS)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Prior experience in biotech/pharma industry in drug discovery
- Experience in integrative analysis of multi-dimensional omics data
