The Role:
This position is responsible for all aspects of Supply Chain Management and Product Control for a Life Sciences manufacturing company with a highly complex technology, extensive product portfolio and strategic collaborations.  Functional responsibility includes all aspects of purchasing and supplier management, production planning and scheduling, inventory control, receiving and global distribution and warehousing. This role will also be a key contributor to the improvement, creation and documentation of business processes and metrics in support of ISO 13485 certification. The ideal candidate will be an innovative leader with a depth of experience in supply chain management as well as experience in Lean Manufacturing principles.
 
How You’ll Contribute
  • Manage a growing team of individual contributors performing planning and procurement functions, hire and train new employees to meet workload requirements
  • Implement a fully functional supply chain management and production control infrastructure, with P&L responsibility and accountability
  • Support procurement activities for Manufacturing, Assay Development and Engineering of chemicals, biologicals, lab supplies
  • Develop  supplier relationship management processes to negotiate pricing, contracts and supplier and quality agreements
  • Direct and implement Demand and Operations Planning, forecasting and master scheduling processes
  • Direct and improve Receiving and Inventory control processes
  • Process purchase orders; develops bids and proposals; and reconcile any invoice discrepancies.
  • Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost down and improvement opportunities
  • Institutionalize systems, processes and metrics for current and future business needs
  • Ensure ERP data integrity and investigate issues for materials management, supplier management and finance functions
  • Work with finance department on standard cost management
  • Implement best practices in procurement and supplier management to support commercial and operational objectives
How You’ll Succeed:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain / Operations Management or related field required
  • 10+ years of managerial experience in the purchasing, warehouse management or logistics
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, forecasting and inventory management systems and processes
  • Expert in ERP system use, deployment, and improvement.
  • Netsuite ERP experience is preferred
  • Experience with procurement of chemicals, biologicals and custom products is required
  • Experience with GMP- or ISO-certified operations required
  • CSCMP, APICS or Six Sigma Certification highly desired
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement preferred
  • Demonstrated creative critical thinker
  • Excellent collaboration capabilities, with an ability to influence laterally and upwardly
  • Outstanding communication skills, developing and delivering impactful presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within cross-functional teams as a team player
  • A strong work ethic, the ability to generate high quality data under tight deadlines, and a collaborative, proactive attitude
