About AllStripes Research (formerly RDMD)

AllStripes' mission is to unlock new treatments for people with rare disease.

We are a medical data science company that empowers patients and communities to generate regulatory-ready evidence for drug research in rare disease.

Job Description

AllStripes’ mission is to accelerate drug treatments for patients with rare disease. There are 7,000 rare diseases affecting 1 in 10 people globally, yet less than 5% of conditions have an FDA-approved therapy. The rare disease drug development market is also growing at an unprecedented rate, making up 58% of all novel drugs approved by FDA in the last year. AllStripes’ two-sided patient and enterprise software platform empowers patients to play a more active role in driving forward drug research in their own conditions.

We’re in an exciting period of growth and are seeking a user-centric Product Designer to lead design efforts on our patient-facing product.

You should be driven to deeply understand the needs and motivations of the user groups you are designing for and excited about redefining the relationship patients have with research and drug development. You are someone who is resourceful, endlessly curious, relationship-driven, and a great communicator. As part of our early team, you will help to shape and define the experience patients and their families have with research, empowering them to be an engaged partner in the research process.

What you’ll do

  • Plan and conduct user research to build understanding and inform design direction.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business goals into unique product experiences.
  • Look for opportunities to solve problems in unique and innovative ways.
  • Define the user experience, interactions, and user interface through user flows, information architecture, sketches and wireframes, and visual design.
  • Build functional prototypes to validate and test your designs.
  • Help maintain visual and brand consistency between all products and outlets.
  • Help shape the product strategy and vision for the patient experience product.

About you

  • You have 5+ years of experience designing and delivering consumer products.
  • You enjoy owning the full design process, but your core strengths lie in user research and interaction design.
  • You can juggle many different priorities, have a start-up mindset, and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
  • You are an excellent communicator as well as an active listener.
  • You have an experimental mindset and a desire to try new things quickly with a willingness to scrap concepts that don’t work out.
  • You are energized by working through design challenges with passionate and diverse cross-functional teams.
  • You are proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • You thrive on delivering new product experiences that add real value to people’s lives.

If our mission resonates with you, but you only match some of these attributes, we hope you apply regardless. We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and enthusiastically encourage people from historically underrepresented groups in tech to apply to AllStripes. We can’t wait to learn more about you!
